Head - Human Resource - Educational Startup (8-13 yrs)

Bangalore Job Code: 710452

Head of HR who in our view should have

Strong academic pedigree - a good undergrad degree like a B.Tech gives the analytic ability, intellect, MBA from a top institute builds social confidence and business basics to deal with a context like ours

Last 3-6 years in work experience in a rapidly growing startup/growth company - exposure to setting up systems from scratch, dealing with high growth/ramp-up/turnover, ambiguity and changing expectations from management, ability to attract and retain people in a competitive environment. While the funded e-comm startups are easy hunting grounds (mostly overpaid and scattered), I feel there could be other less known startups and growth companies (50-200 Cr turnover) could be tapped in the consumer, B2B space

"Smart, truthful, get things done" mindset - looking for a hands-on person who can roll up sleeves and get things done, has a point of view on the subject, is not insecure & political (worried about the designation, afraid to speak up, selfish)

The successful candidate for the role:

- MBA from a top 10 institute, with at least 10-15 years of progressive experience

- Early experience in an established company with a strong work culture and HR systems supporting a line business function

- Followed by a stint with rapidly growing mid-size or startup company with exposure and setting up HR systems and processes from scratch, exposure to supporting geographically distributed sales/service field teams

- Success in this role requires assertiveness, ability to deal with ambiguity, hands-on approach, and integrity

Role:

- Build high-quality HR systems right from onboarding, skilling, evaluating, rewarding, and growing people

- Partner with the India Business leadership to ready the organization for rapid growth in the future by executing on key people initiatives

- Key Responsibilities: You will be charged with executing the talent management strategy focused on creating the people-centric systems and processes to retain and develop our talent pool. Specifically

- Talent Acquisition - Attract top tier mid and senior talent in business, academics and technology through headhunting and employer branding

- Performance Management - Work with business leaders to create a performance-driven culture with enabling systems (KRA metrics, competencies, dashboards, reviews, compensation & rewards)

- Professional Development - Create a skill & performance linked professional development program that includes induction, on-going training and on-the-job feedback and coaching

- HR Systems - Build and implement HR systems and processes by leveraging technology and data-driven decision making across the HR ecosystem including recruiting, payroll, retention and performance

- Compensation & Benefits - Build a high-quality compensation and benefits program in line with entrepreneurial and performance-led workplaces
