Role:

Head HR heads the human resources department in a hospital, overseeing the entire functioning of the department. 

Recruitment of employees, training, functioning, setting the salaries and benefits of employees and managing employee-employer relations, are some of the primary duties of a hospital Head HR.

1. Job Summary / Scope: Head HR

- Responsible for strategic orientation of the Human Resources function including planning, directing, organizing and coordinating the overall activities and functions of the Human Resources department to achieve its mission, goals and objectives and to enhance its existing systems, process, and productivity. Also responsible for driving activities like recruitment, staffing, compensation structuring and employee benefits administration, employee relations, management development programs and performance management.

2. Responsibilities:

Functional-

- Setting up mission and vision of the division.

- Setting up long term plans for the overall functioning of the department

- Directing and recommending appropriate departmental goals and objectives.

- Develop and enhance succession planning.

- Oversee talent management.

- Provide strategic leadership.

- Develop strategic recruiting and retention plans.

- Create and implement compensation and benefit plans.

- Evaluate plans for cost effectiveness.

- Oversee talent acquisition, training, leadership development, career development and benefits.

- Establish plan for management succession.

- Direct the employment activities for both certified and classified employees.

- Develops and monitor procedures for processing application.

- Create and maintain relationships with HR vendors.

- Evaluate and revise divisional functions.

- Implement standard interviewing process.

- Monitor accounting system for providing HR statistics.

- Direct investigations of reports of misconduct, arrests, illegal activities of employees.

- Oversee salary administration.

- Recommend terminations and additions to personnel.

- Develops and monitor HR budget.

- Prepare HR reports for management staff.

- Supervise employment and other regulations and complaints.

- Providing regular feedback to the senior management in human resources issues and assisting them in taking new initiatives for the betterment of departments.

- Ensuring appropriate accountability and compliance of the approved budget.

- Developing and maintaining transparent human resources policies and practices that build a positive work environment and promoting organizations culture.

Behavioural :

Communication : Responsible for maintaining necessary communication with the respective department and top management.

Goals :

- Responsible for setting goals for the respective vertical and to achieving them.

- Problem solving- Should possess a problem solving attitude to attain respective vertical issues.

- Relationship- To maintain a good relationship within and outside the organization.

- Learning Environment- Should encourage, create and maintain a learning environment within vertical to develop and upgrade skills and efficiencies.

- Diversity- To maintain diversity among workforce and other issues.

- Change management- Responsible for managing changes within the vertical and act according to it.

- Service excellence- Adhere to service excellence policy of the group.

- Leadership Role- Provide leadership and ensure efficient and effective management of staff and resources in the department.

3. Desired skills:

A) Education:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources/Business Administration or relevant field or diploma in relevant field with three years additional experience.

Desired : Masters degree in human resources/business administration or relevant field.

Additional qualifications:-Recognized higher qualification in relevant area.

B) Experience:

15-20 years of relevant experience of which minimum 6 years in progressive leadership responsibility in a large organization.

Desired: Experience in large healthcare facility.

C) Skills:

- Good communication skills

- Flexible and open minded approach

- Sound interpersonal relationship

- Strong analytical and negotiation skills

- Sound computer knowledge

- Ability to meet goals and deadlines
