Core Responsibilities:

General Ledger:

- Maintain the integrity of the organization's General Ledger; ensure that new products and account types are accurately accounted for.

Core Banking Support:

- Review and approve suspense accounts, accounting journals, and third-party contracts; provide support on functional aspects related to core banking issues.

Financial Accounting:

- Ensure that accounting policies and practices comply with IFRS and Central Bank regulations.

Reconciliations:

- Monitor reconciliations of Nostro accounts, subsidiary ledgers, internal accounts, and suspense accounts, ensuring that outstanding items are appropriately addressed.

Non-Customer Accounts:

- Ensure compliance with internal policies regarding the creation, maintenance, and monitoring of non-customer accounts.

Accounts Payable:

- Review and endorse all payments to third parties to ensure accuracy, proper accounting, and authorization; maintain checks and controls on all vendor payment-related processes.

Control Framework:

- Implement and monitor the control framework within the Finance department, reporting monthly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Valuations & Provisions:

- Review and approve valuations for investments and derivatives, as well as provisions for investments.

Operational Risk Management & Business Continuity:

- Coordinate and manage the Operational Risk Officer and the Business Continuity Plan for the Finance function.

Generic Responsibilities:

Corporate Governance and Compliance:

- Adhere fully to risk policies, procedures, and compliance regulations, ensuring that all activities within the division comply with corporate governance and regulatory/legal frameworks.

Policies & Processes:

- Develop and implement relevant policies and procedures, conducting regular reviews to ensure they remain relevant and effective.

Risk Management:

- Collaborate with Risk Management to ensure the function operates within established frameworks, proactively monitoring and reporting on risk exposure to enhance control effectiveness.

Compliance:

- Adhere fully to compliance regulations and standards.

People Management:

- Manage, motivate, and develop employees and the team in accordance with established people policies and practices.
