Position Overview :
The Category Head will be responsible for managing a group or category of product for the company. He/she will be responsible for the pricing and overall promotion of the product category which will lead to maximizing consumer appeal. Relationships with vendors and product range management will also be part of your duties. category Head must have extensive experience in understanding consumer needs and the retail environment. They should have a corporate perspective and a thorough understanding of marketing and sales principles.
Key Responsibilities :
- Creating and developing a long-term plan and strategy for development of the category.
- In-depth Analysis of the market, Competition, and trends to counter the competition and come up with a strategy to increase the sales.
- Develop strong working relationships with buying, marketing and merchandising teams.
- Manage inventory levels to maximize sales for the online platforms like Amazon, Paytm Mall etc.
- Manage a team of Category Owners, Catalogue, and Vendor Acquisition resources. Develop and coach team.
- Negotiate Visibility rate card price with vendors.
- Manages and optimizes marketing spends on the category group.
- Working closely with digital marketing team to optimize spends across different digital channels.
- Analyse customer requirements and develop product promotions to drive sales for online platforms.
- Proficient in analytics to identify growth areas and execute.
Job Requirements :
- 3 to 7 years of experience as a category manager or similar roles.
- Strong successful background with ecommerce brand.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and bear remarkable leadership qualities.
- Strong numerical and analytical aptitude.
- Good organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines.
- Proven negotiation skills, influencing abilities
- Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
Education :
- MBA from a reputed college (IIM, IIT, NIT, BITS Pilani).
- Bachelor's degree from a reputed university.
