Head - Finance - Startup - CA (10-17 yrs)
Head Finance - Startup / Series B funded Organisation / CA Must
- 2007-2012 batch CAs, with experience of heading finance teams, current designation being Finance Controller/ Head of Finance/ AVP-Finance/ VP-Finance
- Candidate should have worked with Big 4 auditors and led finance teams across AR, AP, Compliances (DT + IDT), FP&A etc
- Set up and manage the finance function across reporting, general accounting, FP&A, banking, direct & indirect taxation, compliances / audits, and MIS / reporting.
- Strengthen Finance and Accounting systems and processes to implement the strategy.
- Build effective control systems in a rapidly evolving and highly dynamic start-up environment, without constraining the growth potential of the company.
- Cross-functional coordination and deep stakeholder engagement.
- Presents financial health of the organization to executives, board members, investors, and other key stakeholders.
- Collaborates with the executives and directors to create budgets and track key performance indicators.
- Identify key business metrics to be used for monitoring the business performance and monitor them, introducing corrective actions as needed.
- Maximize return on invested funds by identifying investment opportunities, maintaining credible & long-term relationships with the investment community.
- Develop efficient tax strategies.
- Balancing short-term concerns and pressures, such as managing cash flow, liquidity, and profitability, and long-term vision and sustainable organizational success.
Professional Experience/ Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant with at least 10 years of experience in which a minimum of 2 years as a Head of Finance of an early-mid stage startups / fast growing businesses.
- Proven track record of having introduced systemic changes in finance functions that had lasting effect.
- The candidate should have a deep understanding of how various financial systems work and be able to identify early indicators of risks.
- Demonstrated ability of having taken not-so-popular decisions to strengthen financial discipline in the company.
- Experience in building scale and start-up situations is desirable.
- Strong external network comprising investors, bankers, and other finance leadership professionals.
