Head - Finance - Real Estate (12-17 yrs)

Our Client, a well known brand in the Real Estate segment is currently looking for a Head of Finance

The candidate should be a qualified Chartered Accountant preferably from the Real Estate Industry

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Planning :

1. Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives

2. Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans

3. Develop financial and tax strategies

4. Manage the capital request and budgeting processes

5. Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction

Operations :

1. Margin analysis :

0 Determining the amount of profit or cash flow that a business generates from a specific product, product line, customer, store, or region.

2. Breakeven analysis :

- Calculating the mix of contribution margin and unit volume at which a business exactly breaks even, which is useful for determining price points for products and services.

3. Constraint analysis :

- Understanding where the principle bottlenecks are in a company, and how they impact the ability of the business to earn revenues and profits.

4. Target costing :

- Assisting in the design of new products by accumulating the costs of new designs, comparing them to target cost levels, and reporting this information to management.

5. Inventory valuation :

- Determining the direct costs of cost of goods sold and inventory items, as well as allocating overhead costs to these items.

6. Trend analysis :

- Reviewing the trend line of various costs incurred to see if there are any unusual variances from the long-term pattern, and reporting the reasons for these changes to management.

7. Transaction analysis :

- After spotting a variance through trend analysis, a person engaged in managerial accounting might dive deeper into the underlying information and examine individual transactions, in order to understand exactly what caused the variance. This information is then aggregated into a report to management.

8. Capital budgeting analysis :

- Examining proposals to acquire fixed assets, both to determine if they are needed, and what the appropriate form of financing may be with which to acquire them.

9. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team

10. Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team

11. Manage the accounting and treasury departments.

12. Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies.

13. Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced

14. Oversee the company's transaction processing systems

15. Implement operational best practices.

16. Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package.

17. Supervise acquisition due diligence.

Financial Information :

1. Oversee the issuance of financial information

2. Personally review and approve all Form & filings related to Statutory compliance.

3. Report financial results to the board of directors

Risk Management :

1. Maintain appropriate insurance coverage

2. Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements

3. Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies

4. Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors

5. Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations

Funding :

1. Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts

2. Co-ordinate / Arrange for debt and equity financing

3. Invest funds

Third Parties :

1. Participate in conference calls with the investment community

2. Maintain banking relationships
