The Printers Mysore was founded by K N Guruswamy in the year 1948. It is the publisher of Deccan Herald and Prajavani newspapers and Sudha and Mayura magazines. It has printing centers and distribution in Bengaluru, Hubli, Davangere, Hospet, Mysore, Mangalore, Gulbarga. The group has a combined print monthly readership of nearly 4 million. The group employs >1000 personnel, which includes 400 journalists with bureaus across Karnataka and India. Brands Deccan Herald

The Printers Mysore is a 70-year-old media company based in Bengaluru. The company owns prominent media brands like Deccan Herald and Prajavani. To ride the disruption wave, the company has embarked on an ambitious, large-scale change program to drive quantum growth in revenues & profits and transform itself into a 21st century diversified media group.

To support its ambitions, Printers (Mysore) seeks a seasoned Finance professional who will play a key role in driving the growth & transformation process.

Role

Position Head of Finance

Reports To CEO

Location Bangalore

Qualification: CA is Must


You as the Head of Finance will be responsible for overall management of Finance function of the Company and its group entities. You will oversee the Finance and Secretarial functions while formulating financial and operational strategies to drive the growth of the business. You are expected to identify revenue and cost opportunities, potential risks to the business and mitigation thereof to improve the financial performance and protect the key assets of the Company. You will also take a proactive role in the Company's expansion plan.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide insights on the financial health of the organization on regular basis to CEO and Board of Directors.

- Manage budgeting and forecasting activities yearly and quarterly basis and work with HOD's to deliver the Budget.

- Report monthly financial MIS & other operational key metrics along with variance analysis to CEO & Board of Directors

- Monitor and report performance of the Company's strategic initiatives

- Drive efficiency in cost, cost optimization across the organization

- Participate in major procurement price negotiations

- Manage cashflow effectively and take necessary steps to ensure continued availability of funds

- Monitor the Accounts receivable and drive the sales team to collect the outstanding dues on time

- Ensuring the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory audit, internal audit, stock audit and tax audits.

- Oversee the Secretarial function - Compliance with Corporate laws, assisting the Company Chairman in Board meetings, AGM/EGM and ensuring the minutes of the meeting prepared as per proceedings of the meetings.

- Ensuring full compliance with GST law and reporting requirements including but not limited to monthly returns, yearly returns and GST audit.

- Ensuring compliance of ESI, PF and other statutory labor-related laws.

- Managing funds of the Company on day to day basis and investing in appropriate funds/securities

- Liaising with Banks and other financial institutions for funding for working capital and capital expenditure

- Managing forex appropriately to reduce the forex fluctuation impact to the Company

- Managing PF trust and PF trust investments as per regulations to maximize the return to members of the PF trust

- Manage and develop the Finance and accounting team to support the organization effectively

- Exposure to SAP would be an added advantage

Person:

- Chartered Accountant with 10-12 years- experience and at least 2-3 years managing end to end finance function.

- Experience in medial industry would be added plus
