Organizational Context

Job Purpose :

The successful candidate will be the first hire in the new Mumbai finance team and will work closely with the Global Financial Controller, Regional Controllers and AR and Credit Manager.

This is an absolutely crucial hire for the business as it looks to build up a significant finance operation in India. The build out of the team will occur in two separate phases, phase one will focus on setting up a finance processing operation for the Group and will be responsible for the processing of all sales invoices for the business and a significant portion of the credit control work. Phase two will include other aspects of the business that are appropriate for offshoring and in-housing, IFRS statutory account preparation, domestic tax and payroll work, and general ledger accounting for the Indian group company.

Its a rapidly changing organisation, and it is imperative that the successful candidate can adapt to, and help drive change in the Finance Team.

Key Responsibilities :

- Recruiting a team of 6 to run the finance processing operation

- Training and managing the team in the preparation of all the sales invoices for the group and in the performance of credit control duties

- To support the Finance Director in the annual year-end process for the Group, including IFRS statutory accounts and supporting notes

- Processing the payroll for the Group operations in India

- Supporting the APAC Financial Controller with the financial audit for the Indian entity.

Required Knowledge and Experience :

- A qualified accountant with 2 years experience of recruiting and managing a team of AR processors

- Knowledge of both domestic and international accounting standards

- Developed communication and inter-personal skills with immaculate written and spoken English

- Organisation and planning skills with the ability to deal effectively with both short-term imperatives and long-term planning.

- Enthusiasm, resilience, drive and commitment, with the ability to work effectively in a constantly changing and pressured environment.

- Strong excel skills are essential, exposure to Oracle Financials is also desirable.
