Head - Marketing Finance


Our client is industrial powerhouse with a dominant presence in steel, power, mining and infrastructure, it is a leading Indian conglomerate that aims to strengthen the future of the nation and works towards building a better world.

Purpose of the Role :

Our client is looking for a candidate who will provide key commercial and financial insights to Sales and Marketing function. Candidate will partner with Sales and Marketing function to achieve top quartile performance in terms of Pricing, Credit Management and Collection. Chosen candidate is expected to add significant value to Order to Cash Process and there by support Cash Generated.

Roles & responsibilities :

Planning :

- Provide inputs to Annual Business plan for sales and marketing; carry out estimation of credit exposure basis inputs gathered from the respective SBU finance controllers

- Responsible for update to Annual Business Plan, monitor performance against the plan, key customer insights and market analysis.

Pricing & Profitability :

- Provide Critical inputs for Monthly Pricing review, Exception to Pricing Policy review and approval.

- Rolls out Profitability by Customer, Product segments and decision making on Customer Orders and Profitability.

- Participates in meetings with Sales and Marketing with Objective of Contribution maximization.

Credit Management :

Review credit terms for customers & exercise due dillgence in allocation of credit basis evaluation of past performance, Credit Standing, Future potential

Accounts Receivable Management :

- Ensuring that Order to Cash Process is seamless and works to remove bottlenecks to ensure Cash Application and allocation is automated.

- Review & monitor long term agreements, credit notes, discount terms & suggest alternatives to improve cash collection efficiency

- Resolve bottlenecks related to payment collections, pending legal cases and related party transactions as and when they arise

Governance & Controls :

- Ensures Governance & Controls in the area of Credit Management, Pricing, Customer Rebates, Discounts and Marketing spends. Ensure Compliance with respect to Statutory provisions and organizational policies.

Banking :

- Need Based liaison with Banks in order to ensure improvements in Cash Collection process.

- Convince & persuade banks & related financial authorities for modification of LC formats, acceptance of clauses, & adjustment of interest rates to provide financial benefits to the organisation. Explore seamless operations of LC transaction including automation of the processes.

Knowledge & Experience Required :

- This role requires a professional experience of ~12-15 years in handling commercial aspects either of steel industry or metals or heavy industries such as Cement, Oil & Gas etc

- Exceptional Candidates with Relevant experience of Pricing, Commercial Finance function from FMCG, Durables can also be considered.

- This Role requires candidate to be Tech Savvy with exposure to digitization, competitive analysis.

- Ability to manage large complex business with ability to challenge status quo.

- Balances Support and challenge role with Business and demonstrated ability to partner with business on key intiatives.

- An eye for detail, strong fiscal discipline, and commercial orientation.

- Proven ability to build, inspire and manage teams.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
