JOB TITLE : Head of Finance

JOB SUMMARY :

Leads financial management for the company in Trivandrum, Kerala, India. The role of the Finance Leader includes aspects of both accounting and control and financial planning and analysis, with a focus on process improvement and project leadership as it applies to both. As a member of the leadership team, works as a close advisor to both manufacturing leadership in the factories, providing timely and actionable analysis of factory costs and forward- looking projections, and to commercial leadership in building the business in the India market, and other stakeholders in Innovation & Development and administrative functions. 


Primarily manufactures medical device consumables involved in blood and cell technologies, specifically blood collection and component separation. devices company, and is managed as an integral part of the Blood and Cell Technologies business segment, which is headquartered in Lakewood, Colorado, USA. The operations of include :


1) A medical devices manufacturing facility that supplies products to locations around the world, 


2) A sales operation for the India market, including products produced by both manufacturing facilities, and 


3) Research and development activities related to both

ESSENTIAL DUTIES :

Financial Planning and Analysis :

- Responsible for understanding and communicating manufacturing plant variance analysis to manufacturing and financial management (Materials - price variance/scrap, Direct Labor - efficiency/rate, Overhead - operating expense spend, indirect labor, absorption).

- Review all forward-looking product costing estimates as part of new business analysis, annual planning, and long-range planning processes.

- Drive discipline around cost accountability and control through reviews of monthly operating and capital expenses for Penpol entity and factory.

- Review monthly factory and entity forecasts.

- Responsible for working with commercial organization in all aspects of building a profitable India business BCT.

- Ensure sound profitability analysis on commercial sales opportunities in the India market.

- Work with commercial leadership to establish pricing models based on sound marketing and sales strategies

- Ensure accuracy and quality of monthly financial reviews with Penpol leadership and BCT CFO/CEO.

- Ensure a high quality and timely annual budget process for factory operations and supporting functions.

- Ensure adoption of new planning software and systems across all functions.

- Develop in-depth understanding of the overall Penpol business and business fundamentals of any supported functions.

- Evaluate and enhance financial processes and reporting.

- Develop the Penpol FP&A team into trusted strategic finance business partners.

Job Description :

- The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. Accounting and Control :

- Responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the accounting and financial reporting of the Penpol legal entity, including statutory financial reporting and audits thereof by Chartered Accountants and internal auditors.

- Maintain the overall effectiveness of the cost accounting function, and its relationship within factory management.

- Supervise accounting and compliance activities for entity and factory, including fixed assets accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, GST and income tax compliance and reporting

- Ensure that all taxes are paid as per due dates and tax returns are properly filed. Work with income tax subject matter experts within BCT and Corporation to ensure global income tax compliance in areas such as intercompany transfer pricing and intercompany financing.

- Supervise and execute various treasury and cash management tasks, including :


1) Operation and control of payment systems (vendors, payroll), 


2) Maintaining bank relationships, 


3) Purchase and sale of foreign currencies necessitated by global transactions, and 


4) Acting as main contract for insurance matters, with both local contacts and the parent company.

- Ensure a high-quality internal control environment, including reviews of material price variances, cycle counts, and control of accounts receivable and days sales outstanding in the India market to prevent bad debts.

- Lead cross-functional efforts with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, HR and others to drive efficiency and effectiveness in the organization through LEAN processes and maximum utilization of data and software tools.

- Maintain relationships with other BCT factory finance leaders in the USA, Vietnam, Northern Ireland and Japan to explore and share best practices and other process improvements.

- Supervise execution of cost rolls in NAVI for raw materials and finished goods associated with Penpol manufacturing operations.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Leads special cross-functional projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

Education :

- Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, ICWA, MBA (Accounting/Finance) or Master's Degree in Commerce /Finance/Operations Management or Engineering (combined with relevant financial experience)

Experience :

- 12 to 15 years of experience in a financial management role.

- Experience with financial management in a manufacturing setting highly preferred. Experience in medical devices or pharmaceuticals a plus.

- Experience working in a multi-national corporation preferred.

- Experience with financial statement preparation and related audits for statutory reporting highly preferred.

Skills :

- Knowledge and experience with cost accounting, and adequate technical knowledge of the accounting requirements and practices generated by professional standard-setters.

- Also requires a strong understanding and experience in general accounting of broad business transactions and their impacts to the manufacturing operations areas of the organization.

- Strong analytical skills and ability to solve business challenges

- Ability to apply a risk management approach to problem solving and prioritization

- Proven ability to drive process change through an organization resulting in LEAN efficiency and effectiveness.

- Ability to professionally handle confidential material and associated issues.

- Ability to work globally and cross functionally in a collaborative team-oriented environment, especially with Operations leaders and colleagues within other Finance functions.

- Ability to independently set and accomplish objectives and sets priorities in area of responsibility.

- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

- Proven ability to manage a small team and ensure high customer service levels

- Experience with SAP or similar ERP system in a manufacturing and financial setting strongly preferred.

- Knowledge and use of relevant Microsoft applications and skills to use them effectively (Excel, Power Point, Power BI).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : CA or ICWA preferred
