Head-Finance for a Multi-National MLM Company, Based at Bangalore

Role Objective :

- Position is responsible for supervising the accounts, finance, Tax and cost accounting functions. This includes managing compliances of all taxation and statutory laws as well mentoring the functional heads of the same.

- Develop, implement, document systems and best demonstrated practices in Finance & Accounts department. Ensure financial discipline by Operations department.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

- Overall responsibility for all aspects of Cost control, Financial Accounting & Internal Controls, Reporting, Compliance, Statutory Reporting, Treasury functions & Audit Closures.

Financial Accounting & Internal Controls :

- Responsible for all aspects of Financial Accounting and overseeing.

- Accurate and timely preparation and reporting of financial results of the Company

- Protection of the Company assets and maintenance of strong internal controls. Drive contingency planning - in case needed propose corrective actions and execute them.

- Responsible for production accounting which also includes timely production accounting,

- Closure of all cost Accounting Records and Reports and reconciliation of Financial P& L with Cost P&L in line with Cost Accounting Records Rules, Companies Act etc.

- Procedural documentation (Local Finance Manual) is maintained, reviewed, changed to suit the business, reporting and statutory requirement.

- Finalization of and closure of Accounts- Monthly/Half yearly/Quarterly & Annual under two reporting calendars (Calendar Year and Financial Year)

- Clear processes in place for management of all General Ledger accounting ensuring that business needs are met

- Reviewing and updating chart of accounts in Microsoft- AX (ERP) to address MIS requirements for Company's -Senior Management to facilitate their decision making through meaningful information. Review of financial outcomes in relation to budget.

- Efficient Treasury Management (rupee as well as forex) to ensure required liquidity and manage the cash flow diligently to meet timely payments in rupees as well as forex, minimize forex losses, interest outgo, minimize risks through more effective and efficient management of payment gateways/banking channels and ensure integrity of Cash Management & Banking System.

Financial Reporting & MIS ( Indian as well as Group Reporting- s) :

- Ensure all MIS & Financial Reporting (Monthly & Annual) as per Indian as well as Group Reporting Formats & Procedures (APAC & Group HQ) is done error free and within set-time lines

- Preparation and submission of the Branch & Regional profitability Reports as per schedule and with corrective actions to ensure the achievement of budgeted P& L.

- Preparing annual Capex budgets and exercising Budgetary Control through monthly appraisals of actual performance vs. budgeted spends, analyzing variance and providing management variance reports for timely action

- Ensuring monthly analysis of results by accounting team to ensure month end results are complete and accurate (including comparison to budget and explanation of variances) for both sales and production and company at consolidated level.

- Highlighting and communicating areas for remedial action to Senior Management

Audits & Assurance :

- Manage and monitor High level planning and organization of Annual Audit Calendar (Internal, Management, Statutory & Cost Compliance Audit) in consultation with Auditors and support in introducing quarterly internal audits (HO & Plant) and limited review by Stat Auditors half yearly.

- Statutory Accounts produced in timely manner ensuring compliance with Accounting Standards and other applicable regulations (April to March Calendar)

- Preparation and Presentation of Financial Statements, Reports, Schedules as per Group Reporting Pack (Jan to December calendar) for Management Audit

- Ensure timely updating, reporting audit requirements and review implementation of controls and follow up to ensure ongoing compliance with audit findings/recommendations and ensuring no qualifications/non-conformity reporting by any Auditor

- Liaison with External Auditors and ensure smooth completion and closure of all audits within set timeliness both Indian as well as Group requirements.

- Secretarial compliance, management of board meetings and compliance as per companies act.

Others :

- Work with and ensure financial discipline is followed by Operations team

- Growth and development of Finance Function, Team & Culture

- Expediting cross functional Finance issues within the group

- Simplification of Procedures, System Improvements and Automation

- Support in Product Costing and Analysis

Key Internal And External Interactions :

Internal :

- Close & timely interaction with other key departments/functions like Sales, Operations, Taxation, IT, Logistics, Production for timely flow of financial data and information.

- Factory Head, Regional Sales Heads, Marketing for preparation of annual budgets, variance reports

- Close interaction with COO and CFO at HQ. Interaction in case needed with other HQ functions (e.g. IT or logistics).

External :

- ERP Consultants for customization, support

- Auditors & Bankers

- Tax authorities

Candidate Experience / behaviour :

- Chartered Accountant with 7 - 12 years of post-qualification experience

- Previous experience in finance & accounts areas in a multinational & multi location sales organization

- Background in direct sales of consumer durables or insurance products is preferred

- Good exposure to Management Information System, closing of P& L, Cost Control Systems and should have worked in an advanced ERP environment

- Should have handled multifunctional managers (Finance) with large teams

- A good team player with excellent analytical skills

- Proactive individual who ensures all assigned tasks are completed on time

- High level of energy able to work in changing environment and demanding situations and structure

- Able to handle pressure

- Loyal, good communicator

- Solution oriented act

- Able to work systematic, structured and with hands-on mentality
