Finance Head reqd in a start up Advisory Firm at Byculla Mumbai


Organisation Description: 

- Idea of C . BLU was to nurture the buzzing start up ecosystem beyond the funding needs of the founders. Litmus test of every start up is to be able to scale and become a business model or a disruptive innovation. Constellation was set up in late 2012 to be a go to team of multi-disciplinary professionals for all members of the early stage ecosystem. The intent was to service the needs across all members of the ecosystem including investors (both institutional and angel) and founders (and their leadership teams).

- The team has boot strapped to scale from 3 in June 2013 to close to a 40 self-driven and professionals currently across Finance, legal, corporate secretarial, Talent, investor relations and others. Over a short period of time, the team has been successful in creating its own identity as a go to shop for needs of the early stage ecosystem and has added newer offerings from time to time with its dynamic leadership team and an ownership structure where the early leadership have developed to being co-owners of the firm. We haven- t yet peaked and are eager to add newer modules of professional services and solutions for the early stage ecosystem.

- Pride of association and a sense of purpose have been the driving factors for the growth of its young team and limited attrition. In a world where ability to be able to predict the future is considered as a high point, the team endeavors to create its own future as a catalyst in the vibrant early stage investment ecosystem of India.

Job Description/ Work Profile

- SOP: Prepare standard operating procedures and policies for the firms operations/functions (sales, expenses, cash and bank, etc.)

- Financial Statements: Review of financial statements on monthly and annual basis, but in particular scrutinize employee and director reimbursements, review and follow-up and scrutinize debtors/receivables, review and follow-up and scrutinize for vendor payments, etc.

- Payroll: Processing of payroll on monthly basis and filing necessary returns (TDS, PF, etc) on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

- Tax Compliances: Prepare necessary working of TDS, GST and PF, make necessary payments and file necessary returns (as applicable).

- Cash Flow and MIS: Prepare the cash flow statement and MIS for the firm on monthly basis and take overall responsibility and prepare and provide necessary information and report to partners.

- Tax Returns & Scrutiny: Prepare and file income returns, audit related documents, preparing submission for assessment and assisting consultants in appearing before authorities.

- SEBI Compliance: Prepare and file necessary returns and report with SEBI, as required by AIF category-I

- Strategic Objectives: Assist in formulating the firms future direction and supporting tactical initiatives.

- Training: Train the junior accounts team on all of the above.

- Miscellaneous: Any other tasks as allotted on time-to-time basis by the partners/directors of the firm

Desired Candidate Requirement: 

1. Must have 8 to 10 years of experience

2. Good written & oral communications skills

3. Sound knowledge of accounting, financial and legal terms

4. Good at follow-ups with client, bankers, associates, government departments, etc.

5. Proficient with Excel & Tally but not mandatory.

6. Ability to reflect on ones own work as well as the wider consequences of financial decisions.
