Job Description - Head Finance & Admin (India operations) of a French mutinational

Client Details

The client is a specialty retailer in the home and kitchen ware segment, catering to premium markets, and a global name in its segment. It already has a presence in India, in both the retail as well as institutional channel for the biggest names in the hospitality sector. With focus on growth in the Indian market and bring its brand to more premium channels, they are looking for someone to head Finance and Accounting functions for their pan India operations.

Description

Reporting directly into the Country Head, you will be responsible for:

- Controlling all the finance and accounting practices and procedures in India:

- Management of accounts and financial operations of the company

- Accounting systems operation and maintenance

- Billing and monitoring client including debtors, creditors, outstanding payments.

- Banking operations and relationships

- Management of auditors - internal and statutory

- All tax and related matters

- Establishing and reviewing procedures of group control

- Management and control of overheads

- Management of all secretarial and legal matters / compliances

- Deliver financial reports in accordance with management and statutory requirements and timetable.

- Group audit pack and consolidation (IFRS)

- Completion of commercial analysis as required

- Building and monitoring statements of analytic management of total business, stores and wholesale

- In close association with balance sheet control account responsibility, to manage inter-company reconciliations and assist where necessary with day-to-day queries regarding the inter-company accounts, inclusive of the recharge process.

- The preparation of accurate monthly management accounts, ensuring a tight, disciplined month end reporting routine in line with European Reporting calendar, which delivers complete accounts to the Country Manager for presentation to senior management.

- Preparation of variance analysis (actual v's budget/forecast), which will demand a detailed working knowledge of the company budget/reforecast process.

- Facilitate, manage and comply with the internal and statutory audit process and complete the same within stipulated timelines. Manage relationship with auditors and relevant Government agencies.

- Manage and oversee relationship with nominated logistics provider for company across total process from product ordering through to customs clearance into India. Manage the warehouse operations and supply within India to wholesale partners and retail stores

- Manage company's Group Navision system for LC India in close coordination with Group Finance and IT departments and ensuring that the local ERP system is operating as per Group and local market requirements.

- Ensure controls and checks exist to manage local profitability and gross margins.

- Complete GST / IT Returns, and all other local statutory compliance submissions and filings within stipulated timelines. Secure, manage and renew all licenses, statutory requirements / permissions from time to time.

- To create and manage a process for ensuring accurate and timely cash flow forecasts, and monthly cashbook movement analysis. Manage receivables, payables, banking and cash flow on a regular basis.

- Undertaking of profitability analysis identifying product types, sectors, customers etc. that are profitable/not profitable with view to guiding selling behaviors and investment decisions within the business.

- Prepare Annual Budget, Rolling Forecasts (ROFO) or Revised Budgets, monthly forecast and various management reports; Monitor implementation of those actions to ensure the achievement of Company objectives (sales, GM, EBIT) and in particular the successful realization of the ROFO, annual business plan and Budget.

Profile

You are a qualified Chartered Accountant with 7 to 11 years of post qualification experience. You have prior experience of working in a mid sized retail (ideally luxury) organization in a No.1 or No. 2 position in finance & Accounts with experience of leading a team. You are well versed with accounting, reporting & taxation (transfer pricing), working in an ERP environment.
