Job Description :

Job Title Head : Finance & Accounts

Department : Finance & Accounts Grade

Reporting to : Chief Executive Officer

Location : Bhopal

Role Description :

Job Purpose :

- Lead the financial planning, management, and control function and provide strategic direction. Ensure financial health of the organization and monitor issues relating to taxation, treasury, resource mobilization, cash management, capital structure, borrowings and other risk factors to achieve the desired business results.

Primary Responsibilities : 

Strategy & Planning & Strategic Direction :

- Drive the development of a financing strategy that supports growth, maximizes shareholder value and optimizes interest costs

- Develop and recommend to the Board an annual operating plan and financial budget that support the Corporation's long-term

- Develop the framework of financial metrics for implementing Corporate Strategy and enabling financial control across the various business units

- Guide on decisions in the areas of capital structure, financing mix, financial leverage in order to maximize overall value of the corporation

- Plan utilization of funds for efficient, prudent and strategic requirements; obtain economies of scale, sufficing financial requirements and ensure best utilization & returns

- Scan the environment and work towards keeping the organization ready in advance to face the new challenges in the area of financial, accounting, taxation or disclosure requirements being brought by ICAI, Govt. or regulatory bodies for protecting stake- holder's interest

- Provide strategic financial direction to various regions and functions to achieve business targets

- Create a culture of financial discipline by ensuring the implementation of financial management systems and processes across the organization

- Provide support for the development of the legal strategy of the organization in line with the overall business strategy

- Participate in the creation of the AOP at the Corporate level

- Create the annual finance function budget and decide on the allocation for various departments

Operations & Accounting :

- Monitor implementation of policy guidelines for accounting authorization, for commodity hedging and also risk mitigation strategies

- Establish effective and robust financial accounting and cost accounting systems so as to provide timely, accurate and consistent inputs for management reporting and allowing detailed analysis of performance in financial terms

- Ensure implementation of common accounting systems in line with the Accounting Standards across the various business units

- Supervise and oversee the preparation of monthly, half-yearly and annual accounts statements through providing inputs to subordinates and interfacing with the auditors to provide any information required

- Review, consolidate and finalize annual accounts and submit to the board for their approval

- Analyze MIS reports and financial statements (such as quick look statements on cash flow, funds flow, profit and loss and financial aspects of the balance sheet) on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis and suggest remedial measures for improving the statistics to the management

Treasury Management :

- Lead the relationships with financial institutions and ensure that funds are made available timely and at the most cost effective interest rates

- Ensure optimum management of corporate funds through effective treasury management and compliance

- Closely monitor cash flows and take necessary steps to ensure continuous availability of working capital

Investor Relations :

- Conduct due diligence and documentation for IPO, Private equity etc and ensure whetting of legal contracts of significant and long term implication e.g. JVs, acquisitions etc.

- Coordinate with various stakeholders for approvals and compliance, as applicable

Tax Management :

- Effectively contribute to tax planning at the corporate level and also assist in tax planning of direct and indirect taxation in commercial decisions

- Ensure compliance as per the provisions of Income Tax Act, Fringe Benefits Tax, Wealth Tax Act, Service Tax Act and Value Added Tax by various entities of the group

- Represent the company externally to media, government agencies, funding agencies and the general public

Company Secretary & Legal :

- Ensure corporate governance with regards to financial, legal and secretarial matters

- Advise and guide the team of company secretaries in various associated & subsidiary companies and ensure compliance under the various SEBI regulations and acts

- Hold responsibility for Settlement of Appeals

- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies and provide advice in all legal and regulatory matters

- Ensure that legal counsel is provided on issues arising from actual to anticipated lawsuits

Financial & Control :

- Complete the analysis of all units- monthly financial and business performance reports with a view to provide explanations for variances from budget, forecast and prior period actual data

- Conduct the analysis of the business units- operational processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs and Maximize revenue & PAT

- Review the Operational and Capital Expenditure, assist in the annual budgeting & monthly and quarterly forecasting

- Achieve budgeted financial targets (Revenues, EBIDTA, Cash from Ops, Overheads as a percentage of revenues etc.)

People Management :

- Comprehensive people management responsibilities, in terms of:

- Handling Performance Appraisals of subordinates - Set goals, review and manage performance, guide and counsel and provide feedback on performance so as to ensure a motivated and committed team

- Playing an active role in the recruitment of incumbents into the team

- Responsibility for handling and approving promotions in the team

- Ensuring high level of employee engagement and retention of key personnel

- Responsibility for training and counseling of the team along with career planning & development

- Enhancing the competency level of the team, by providing them opportunities like feedback, training, coaching, etc.

- Approve the promotions recommended by the respective team members

- Drive the development of Manpower plans for the team to ensure adequate manpower for the team

Job Specifications :

- Desired Qualification CA/ MBA (Finance)

- Desired Experience 15+ years of experience in Finance/ Accounts
