Head/EVP - Corporate Legal - Energy/Transportation/Power/Infra

To lead and support legal functions at Corporate Level for diversified business - Energy, Transportation, Hospitality, Services, Infrastructure and Power

- Handle all PPP, Regulatory matters - commercial and contract related issues

- Statutory legal compliance, documentation

- Overseeing and approving the drafting of various agreements relating to assets purchase, investment, commercial, marketing, lease, business and mergers & acquisitions. Vet all commercial documents

- Liaison and effectively manage apex courts like High Courts, Supreme Court and other significant bodies.

- Should have knowledge of handling Litigations, Arbitrations (National / International) and Joint Ventures

- Good Public Relations with outside counsel where appropriate.

- Draft, review and negotiate all legal work including legal documents for equity participation in foreign companies, IPO related documents

- Review various commercial agreements including Consultancy agreements, technology collaboration, Lease agreements, property /real estate agreements, joint ventures & project agreements, equity investments and related agreements & all documentation..

Desired Profile :

Qualification: LLM (Commercial Law) / Equiv.

Experience:

- Should have about 25 years of experience in the Corporate Legal Department of a large company (preferably Engineering Manufacturing/Power/Infrastructure ).

- Previous exposure can be in a Law firm. Age around 50 yrs

Person:

- The person should at present be occupying the Head of Legal position in a large Conglomerate.

- The person should have an extensive network with advocates, solicitor firms and should be an expert in handling the practical aspects of handling matters in court and also have an intense knowledge of case law pertinent to Project Management.

Should have hands on experience in litigation - in various states and geographies on Industry specific law, Regulatory Affairs, consumer affairs besides Arbitration in Indian & International geographies.
