Head - Engineering - Online/Internet

Our client is technology-driven equities advisory firm that combines cutting-edge tech with insights from years of stock market experience.

The Role

- Lead the entire engineering team and deliver a product that has the potential to transform the equity advisory industry and provide transparency & access to millions of customers/investors.

- Work with Leadership and influence culture and make decisions organisation wide that has direct impact of business and product.

- Lead the entire engineering team, work with architects to identify and deliver new complex features, and services.

- Provide organisation-wide leadership, direction and execution strategy including taking company-wide engineering initiatives.

- Design, experiment, and implement processes to increase the overall productivity.

- Provide technical expertise and leadership wherever required throughout product life cycles, influence software engineering best practices and own operational metrics

- Work closely with cross-functional teams, business leadership team, and a team of great product managers

- Ensure the team fully understands the goals and objectives of our company and how their work fits into the bigger picture.

- Recruit and continue to build out a capable and cohesive engineering team.

- Responsible for the overall growth, learning, performance, and happiness of the entire tech team. Lead the team by example. Perform regular performance evaluation and share and seek feedback

- Report directly to CEO

Experience

- Minimum 6 years of quality experience.

- 3+ years of hands-on experience in building large-scale systems. A proven performance track record and a team player with high-energy.

- Have deep experience with modern technologies, architectures, and agile development.

- Expertise and quality experience in writing production-quality distributed applications in Java and a high bar for writing clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-tested code.

- A good business sense and deep empathy towards user needs and able to envision solutions for a global product. Agility and ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and scope and priorities.

- An enthusiastic leader who has unlimited energy to influence and daring to take initiatives and risks.

- Excellent communication, leadership and presentation skills

- Should have strong knowledge of data stores, database design, data modelling, and SQL servers

- Energetic, engaged, and technically strong senior professional who can directly work with Leadership and influence culture and make decisions organisation wide that has direct impact of business and product.

- Should have technical depth, architectural know-how, distributed systems generalist, strong people, and a process manager and able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems.
