Head - Engineering/Delivery - IT (8-14 yrs)

We are looking for a Head of Engineering/Delivery (India) to help build a new offshore team in India.

Notice Period- Immediate

What do we need in the person?

- Ideally at least 8 years of experience in product engineering with an engineering degree/ Management degree from a Premier Institution.

- Build and manage a crack product Engineering team & Create a culture of Learning and Knowledge Management in the Engineering Team

- Able to work autonomously, to be proactive, and to take ownership of tasks. When problems do require input from other stakeholders, you escalate them

- Good expertise in Technology Architecture. We need someone who is hands on- i.e. a person who looks forward to coding himself or herself or does it just to keep in touch

- Passionate about technology- you should be dreaming how it can be leveraged to service customer needs

- Work with business leaders and Product managers to understand the product and its users

- Set up best practices for development and champion their adoption and at the same time help architect & design technically robust, flexible and scalable solutions

- Perform well in uncertainties and collaborate and work with unclear interfaces to other teams in the rapidly evolving organization

- Humble. We appreciate constructive criticism and are not afraid to employ it.

- A strong communicator in English (written and verbal). German exposer will be an added advantage.

- Experienced with life working in agile teams, using continuous integration and deployment practices.

- Backend / Frontend - Web & Mobile - we need someone who know this all

- Logistics Execution / E-Commerce experience is essential.

- Anchored a team of at least 15 high calibre engineers

- Experienced with at least few years within industry in Python development.

- An expert in a Python web framework, such as Flask or Django.

- A test believer. Tests are an everyday occurrence for you, not an afterthought or chore.

- Web services and REST APIs are second nature to you.

- Equipped with a rounded knowledge of SQL and ORMs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Build - a brand new team in a brand-new location, from the ground up

- Lead - be a standards setter, both technically and professionally

- Mentor - set a strong focus on your team's personal development

- Design - architect simple solutions to complex problems

- Communicate - bring together stakeholders technical and non-technical, and bridge the gap between the teams in India and Europe

- Resolve - eliminate blockers, disputes, and distractions as they arise

Technologies we use:

- We expect the prospect should have a fair idea or experienced in all or few of the below technologies at least for a year along with people with Techno-managerial skills.

- Python (Flask, SQLAlchemy), Angular & NgRx, PostgreSQL, Redis, Heroku & AWS, Github, Jenkins

Experience with these would be a plus:

- Flask, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, Linux, Heroku, AWS, or similar cloud platform, Angular or Typescript, E-Commerce platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, Plentymarkets, NetSuite, Shopware, Magento, or similar.
