HEAD EHS - Steel Industry

15-20 years of Experience in heading EHS Function for steel industry.

- Develop, coordinate & assist in the implementation, review and revision of Project HSE management plan, policies and emergency preparedness procedures

- Manage overall HSE operations keeping in view the geographical parameters and size / type of the project

- Implements Organization's policies & standards and performance improvement programs to ensure health & safety culture in the organization

- Reports progress on implementation of Organization's objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to site level, as required

- Reduce work related Injuries / Illness with Zero Accident Goal (Severity & Frequency and LTI)

- Facilitate hazard identification & risk assessment by Site Manager & site team involving contractor team / workmen and enforce preventative risk control measures

- Ensure site security procedures being followed in accordance with company requirements

- Organize weekly safety meeting with Contractor Site Supervisors

- Establish workplace HSE Committee & conduct periodical HSE Committee Meeting with Sub Contractor Management and discuss prevailing site issues

- Carry out regular HSE inspections and HSE internal auditing at the worksite along with Senior Management, Supervisors, Foreman & provide short term / long term action plans as recommendations for all Non-Conformities and Improvement Opportunities

- Advise / guide the management in taking appropriate decision pertaining to any OHS & E issues

- Proactively monitor and upgrade Equipment / Machinery to eliminate accidents at site

- Prepare checklist on unsafe acts & conditions and take appropriate corrective and preventive action

- Ensure all the employees are appropriately trained to establish the safety culture and to enable them to perform their activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner

- Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental Programmes were integrated into the work systems
