One of the Leading Company ( an MNC) in its Line of Business is looking to hire a safety Leader.

Candidate Profile - The right candidate for this position will have extensive experience in managing and leading Environment, Health & Safety in large construction sites and Operational sites. He/She should be able to visualize risks associated with various construction activities and safety measures required to minimize those risks and overlook the agenda for the operational sites. He should be self-driven with excellent communication and motivation skills to lead the team and drive safety initiatives across the organisation

Responsibilities

- Ensuring that required EHS standards are followed at all India project & construction sites & will be responsible for drafting/formulizing EHS-related programs/policies & ensure their implementation across all locations to meet the customer requirements.

- Guide a team of designated safety officers across major project sites and be responsible for regular audits, and inspections to ensure that a high level of Health & Safety is followed in all work-facets at all project sites.

- Visualize various risks related to EHS in all the works being carried out and be able to provide required safety guidelines to be followed by the Project team so to ensure zero-incident & near misses.

- Responsible for conducting regular training and awareness programs on EHS across the organization.

- To develop a strategy to improve the safety standards at all levels.

- Introduce new methods of work to enable the project managers to control the H & S effectively.

- Develop and implement a training matrix to improve the knowledge of H & S.

- Ensure that all safety documentation is up to date.

- Audit projects periodically and report on the findings, implement improvement measures as required.

- Carry out due diligence on contractors for suitability to execute contracts.

- Build good working relationships with all project stakeholders.

- Effectively manage a proactive team.

- Ensure that reports are done on time and any measures required are carried out promptly.

- Development of the team. Define the roles of the H&S team. Maintain the Effectiveness of the team. Ensure that correct staffing levels are maintained.

- Must routinely communicate expectations, measurements, and performance of the company safety culture to all employees.

- Ready to travel &cover at least 2-3 project sites and operation facilities and drive the EHS corporate agenda and customer requirements.

Skills/Experience

- Graduate (Preferably BE/BTech/ in Mechanical/Civil/Electrical/) with Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety or equivalent

- 20 plus years of relevant experience in Safety Management in large construction Projects/MEP works.

Preferred IOSH or similar membership {Risk management is an advantage}

- Knowledge of OSHA and similar standards with regard to construction

- Knowledge of ISO 45001 Safety audit and process.

- Knowledge and understanding of India Safety standards for construction, electrical and mechanical installations etc.

- Knowledge of EHS reporting metrics and their relevance

- Strong Client facing and vendor management experience.

- Experience working with Physical and Virtual teams.

- Skill at managing stakeholder groups and balancing diplomacy and tact with assertiveness

- Drive the EHS framework across the organisation.

- A strong customer-centric approach

- Strong Communication skills (both written & verbal) and ability to drive people.

- Willingness to travel
