Product Head -

Our consumer platform focuses on building the next-generation edtech solutions for students and parents, delivering tangible learning outcomes across multiple delivery channels (web, mobile, STB) and learning contexts for foundational learning requirements K-12 as well as for hyper-competitive exam preparation

About the role:

Your responsibilities and scope of work would include, but not be limited to, the following:

- Collaborate with business, design and engineering to iteratively scope, build and launch new features.

- Build consensus amongst stakeholders by defining a shared vision and establishing a roadmap of prioritized initiatives, backed by quantitative/qualitative user research

- Product lifecycle management from concept to launch of the product(s) across all consumer products/product lines.

- Research and write detailed user stories as well as high-level business cases and specifications. You should be comfortable describing the big picture as well as the details.

- Act as a product owner responsible for prioritization of the teams backlog, leveraging your experience to prioritize based not only on a technical happy path but also on business value and strategic direction.

- Effectively use data and analytics to inform the direction of the product.

- Provide leadership by example, being the biggest evangelist for your product(s)

- Lead, Communicate with, influence, and motivate your team (Dev/Design/QA) to build the best product while creating a collaborative environment

- Navigate a fast-paced hyper growth company, driving towards a large vision while staying focused on execution and being a core part of leadership in building the work culture to be satisfying, rewarding, honest and outcome-focused

- Develop budgets, forecasts, and metrics.

- Define pricing and competitive positioning for each product in collaboration with business.

What we are looking for: (Tier 1 Academic pedigree)

- 8+ years of product management experience with 5+ years of product leadership and team management

- A background in engineering/ computer science/ development is preferred, MBA- Tier 1 institutes only !

- Strong analytical problem-solving.

- Demonstrated creative aptitude through prior jobs/ projects.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Passionate about learning, education, and technology.

- Stellar ownership and accountability for each feature/product worked on. Thinks of himself/herself as the mini-CEO responsible for the success of the product.

- Highly user-centric and obsesses over the small details of the user experience

Hands-on in product management in terms of the following:

- Writing detailed product and feature specs that are precise from a development standpoint as well as benchmarked to similar/ comparable products and features in the global market

- Comfortable creating wireframes and mockups, with a knack for keeping things simple.

- Working on a daily basis with development/QA to ensure the product delivery and release process is smooth

- Working on a regular basis with all product stakeholders - BD/Marketing/Delivery/Customers/ Consumers to ensure business priorities are met meaningfully

- Conducting focus groups/ primary research with user groups/customer groups in a focused manner to ensure successful product/ feature launches

- Review feedback based on data on feature/product performance to continually work on improving the product offerings and conduct systematic A/B tests to arrive at stronger product metrics and performance iteratively.

- Startup environment experience or experience in building products from scratch is highly relevant. Could have worked in performance-driven consumer internet companies in PM roles such as Amazon/Google/FB etc. as well as Indian consumer internet startups such as Myntra/FK/Ola etc.
