Head - Direct Taxation - CA - Conglomerate (22-30 yrs)
Company: One of the Largest Conglomerate in India
- Head-Direct Tax (Senior Leadership Role)
- CA preferred between 1997-2005 Batch
- Must Have: Someone from Large Organisation handling Large Team size and large business size.
Note: Big4 is not preferred for this Role; (Not from any Big4s) : Only from Large or Very Large Companies into Industrial or Engineering or Manufacturing or Infrastructure Industry
Location: Mumbai
Responsibilities:
- Compliance
- Appeals & Litigation Management
- Risk Mitigation & Policy Advocacy - Ensuring Direct tax compliance including filing of returns for parent & the group entities
- Compliance for CbCR, POEM, SFT
- Handling of Transfer Pricing (TP) matters including Policy Guidelines, benchmarking analysis, TP audit, assessment, appeals relating to TP
- Guide the Tax Audit process and ensure active engagement with Tax auditors
- Detailed review of assessment and appeal submissions
- Appearance before income tax authorities up to Commissioner / Commissioner (A)
- Conducting briefing meetings with consultants, if any or AOR and senior counsels for ITAT / Courts hearings
- Tax litigation management and Risk analysis of Litigations based on facts & judicial precedence
- Provide pro-active tax consulting (WHT, Tax benefits etc. and risk management advise to businesses
- People Development & Networking
- Business Support, MIS & Technology
- Proactively conduct tax risk audit and identify the gaps if any for immediate remediation
- Analysis of legislative changes in direct tax and important case laws for internal dissemination
- Policy advocacy through representations & meetings
- Represent the Company in external trade bodies etc.
- Keeping abreast of industry trends and tax developments including latest developments in international tax arena e.g. Multilateral agreements
- Issuance of Corporate tax guidelines
- Developing internal tax talent
- Developing and maintain working relationship with tax officials and senior Govt officials
- Assist in strategizing and implementing tax optimisation initiatives for the business. Participate in corporate restructuring initiatives including demerger of business undertakings, merger of companies, business transfers and acquisition integration
- Develop tax related MIS for the group and the group entities in multi-business & multi-location environment
- Periodically streamline the tax process and standardize them effectively through effective use of suitable tax technology tools

Qualification - Chartered Accountant
Age - 44 - 48 years max approx 50
Experience: 22 - 28 years
