Summary

This is a leadership role managing and heading Direct function for the organization. The position is responsible for strategizing, planning, implementing and monitoring all direct tax related matters for the organization. Responsibility include handling all matters relating to Direct Taxation including managing the total direct tax exposure of the group, corporate structuring and driving tax efficiency, structuring of deals and group fund movement, taking positions within defined risk parameters, representing before tax authorities, statutory compliance and managing all routine/ transactional matters.

Key Result Areas

- Corporate Tax Planning from a structural and overall tax efficiency perspective.

- Structuring of M&A deals and managing Due Diligence from the direct tax perspective

- Guide leadership team on direct tax implications on various strategic decisions including expansions and acquisitions

- To contribute to business performance through effective Tax planning and strategies which are aligned to overall business strategies

- Supporting, training and mentoring the Direct Tax team to ensure timely delivery of quality work

- Ensuring regulatory compliance on all direct tax matters

- Manage assessment of tax returns, appeals, rectification and other matters including obtaining requisite tax opinion and litigation

- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and case law developments, which may be relevant to the business

Person Requirement

- Ideally a Chartered Accountant, the person should have atleast 15 years post qualification experience.

- A exposure to Manufacturing or Power OR Energy industry is ideal.

- The candidate should have worked on both M&A and international deals

- We need someone who is adept at leadership and stakeholder management and can anchor a growing team

- We are also open to candidates from the Big 6 who want to get into Corporate / Industry roles

- Communication skills and executive presence should be excellent
