Designation: DGM-Shipping and Transport  Reports to General Manager-Corporate Logistics  MBA/PGDBM in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, APIS or Supply Chain Certification  Preferable - B.E.  - 15+ years of experience in logistics, customs, advance licensing, exports incentives, EXIM documentation & related functions preferably within multinational pharmaceutical or engineering company  - Expertise in managing internal & outsourced high volume shipping and transport functions  - Expertise in freight rate negotiation tools and techniques, reverse auction mechanism and tertiary understanding of ERP, EDI systems  - Statutory / regulatory knowledge - cGMP  - The role will assist General Manager-Corporate Logistics to develop strategies,manage systems to support process optimization and functional enhancements to continuously improve transport & shipping performance indicators worldwide  - Will serve as a functional expert in transport, shipping and allied activities, develop policies and SOPs in transport, shipping, customs, pre & post export documentation, importation of goods, bank & LC related activities.  - Negotiate rates & contracts with transporters, shipping lines, freight forwarders, CHAs and other LSPs.  - Work with Logistics senior management to ensure effective support and deployment of new capabilities and enhancements in the area of transport and shipping.  - Identify areas of Cost reduction  - Improve operational performance  - Implement digital transformation and advance SCM technologies  - Should be familiar with modern concepts of the digitalization process in the area of transport & shipping  Skills / Knowledge:  - Knowledge in transport, shipping & customs processes, export incentives  - Excellent analytical skills  - Project Management & Problem Solving expertise  - Global & Commercial acumen  - Negotiation skills  - Contract development & management abilities  - Statutory/regulatory knowledge  - Advanced skills in Excel, Access, SQL, or other analytical tools for data extraction and analysis
