Job Description - Responsible to direct and oversee the whole organization's overall supply chain and procurement operations, including sourcing and procuring of materials/products/services, selection of vendors, and its management and distribution. Develop and execute strategic plans to improve cost, productivity, quality and efficiency of the Supply Chain function operations. Create functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develop budgets/policies/procedures.

Client Details

Our client is a renowned MNC with operations in 55+ countries employing 25000+ people worldwide. They are a listed entity globally and are one of the biggest players in India in their sector. They are in the facility management space providing maintenance, hygiene and work wear services. Based out of Mumbai they are looking for a Head of Department for Procurement & Supply Chain to support the growth plans of the organization.

Description

Reporting to the MD of the India business with dotted line to Regional Procurement & Supply Chain Director in Singapore, the responsibilities of the role will include:

- Oversees activities related to timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of all purchased materials/products/services to avoid costly delays and lost in revenue through out-of-stock situations.

- Establishes policies and procedures that ensure the economic and quality of materials/products/services purchased.

- Develops, implements and maintains policies, procedures and inventory control systems to reduce cost, streamline procedures and implement solutions.

- Ensures comprehensive market analysis to determine vendor sources and product development as part of protecting our supply base.

- Ensure comprehensive and regular price benchmarking for materials/products/services to determine vendors are delivering at most reasonable cost.

- Responsible for sourcing and supplying materials/products/services, as well as coordinating with both regional and global procurement efforts.

- Ensures availability of materials in the supply chain as scheduled and maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels.

- Ensures appropriate and most cost effective negotiation and award of contractual purchase agreements with vendors.

- Review financial and management reports of procurement and supply chain activities and recommends changes in method and procedures based on the report outcome.

- Prepare management reports/data of procurement and supply chain from time to time as may be required by country, regional or global management.

- Meets and confers with vendor representatives to discuss price changes, trade and cash discounts and delivery arrangements.

- Ensure focus on continuous cost improvement across all business segments and timely reporting of these cost improvement activities.

- Demonstrated effective leadership of the department including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, employee development and employee relations issues.

- Other related duties assigned as needed.

Profile

Minimum Bachelor's Degree (or its equivalent) in the following fields Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or related field. An advanced University Degree (Masters Degree or equivalent) will be an advantage but not a must. The client is looking for at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the delivery and management of procurement and supply chain services, warehouse and inventory management and logistics. 5+ years of experience in managing a team in a sub-functional environment is ideal.

CIPS (or any equivalent Supply Chain professional certification) is highly desirable. Experience in using ERP/MRP or any P2P and Inventory Management System besides proficiency in the use of computer applications and systems especially with excel, word and powerpoint (or its equivalent).
