Head - Content & Design/Creative - eCommerce (12-17 yrs)

- Looking for a seasoned Creative Director to shape and own the content and design for the company. If you can inspire a creative team on big ideas and quickly bring concepts to life and refine them as you gather customer and business requirements, this is your opportunity; we'd like to meet you.

- You will lead and collaborate with a cross functional team, including designers, content strategists, business and marketing managers to create an integrated experience with content and consistent and aesthetic design that engage our audiences. Success in this role will come from being able to provide clear direction and leadership to a large creative team. Some of this team will be docked centrally but many sections will be housed with their respective businesses.

- An overall consistent and cohesive approach that provides a clear compass to all the content and design teams irrespective of where they dock and a sense of belonging and value they derive from also belonging to the central creative organization will be key.Agility and an ability to build teams that comprise talented designers and writers who understand their role in being completely in sync with business and marketing teams will be critical for the success of this leader and the team.

- We are a data driven organization and an ability to drive measurement and impact of the content and design and work with that in an iterative manner is key. We are a close-knit group, from a diverse set of backgrounds and cultures. Our team is scaling, and we currently sit out of two locations in India - Mumbai and Gurgaon.

Skills:

- Consumer - first thinking in design and execution of content and design across all touch points

- Partner every function in making the content and design integration into business easily accessible, relevant and valuable

- Stewardship of the agenda that drives the entire unlock and value from integration of content and design into how we deliver delight to our consumers

- Build a 'right-sized' and ' right capability' team whose collective capabilities help address the evolving and growing needs of the business

- You can define, recognise and develop talent and create an inspiring creative work environment and culture. Actively brings out the best in designers, developing both designers and team dynamics

- You can guide a team who executes designs that follow brand style guidelines and takes it beyond the scope or brief.

- Ability to manage a diverse team consisting of multiple disciplines. Ability to forge a strong sense of connection between the team and other departments.

- Strong people and admin skills that translates into a comfort with running a mini organization inside a large one ( hiring and firing, team prioritization and allocation, budgeting)

- Ability to communicate clearly and with impact to inspire and convince multiple stakeholders the power or magic in your ideas and an ability to simplify complex ideas

- Ability to work well with people of diverse backgrounds and personalities

- Evidence of creative ability- for example, 2+ top-tier design / creative awards in order to better attract strong design talent.

- An execution mindset, willing to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty with a deep attention to detail

Professional Experience : 

- 12-15 + years experience in either design-led organizations/ creative organizations or agencies

- 10+ years experience in positions of creative leadership with proven track record

- 5+ years of directly managing members of creative teams, helping them bring concepts to life, iterating and refining them and shaping future leaders

- Experience in e-commerce and a deep understanding of digital, new media, and social. is preferred.

Key deliverables:

- An integration of content and design teams across the company.

- Lead a creative team of 40 plus members across design and content.

- Drive visual and language standardization across the organization as relevant

- Codify and decentralize certain teams to work closely with business teams without losing the common thread that binds

- Spread design by creating a set of practices across organization

- Step change the design thinking for the core platform of the company and bring fresh thinking in how we design and execute on going thematics/ topical/ sale campaigns

- Partner the business and marketing team to elevate our aesthetic, and in delivering customized content and design to the different requirements and tastes of the different consumers.

- Design and execution partnership of all touchpoints: social, email, digital ads etc. From conceptualization to last mile daily execution

- High degree of collaboration with peers, partners and stakeholders to ensure high-quality, cohesive deliverables through the entire creative process.

- Evangelise and exceed our high expectations for design and push boundaries in a meaningful way.

- Define, recognize and develop talent and create an inspiring creative work environment and culture

- Build a ONE team culture
