JOB PROFILE:
The following are key responsibilities of the AGM Compliance:
- Develops / MAINTAIN a Bank - compliance manual which defines the principles of banking and financial compliance and the standards/codes of conduct and ethics that should be met. Ensures that the compliance manual is updated when changes occur within the relevant regulations, laws or corporate governance relating to Bank - Control Mechanisms.
- Provides comprehensive monitoring and control mechanisms to ensure that Bank - complies with all applicable regulatory and legal requirements. Plans and implements compliance programs and policies.
- Monitors and reports on levels of Bank - compliance, highlighting discrepancies and recommending appropriate corrective action. Provides guidance and advice to the Bank - Board and senior managers on matters relating to compliance.
- When required updates business units with the latest/applicable regulation/amendments and ensures on-going staff compliance. Develops Bank - policies for client acceptance and anti-money laundering measures.
- Implements procedures for transaction surveillance to identify suspicious transactions and measure to report/escalate such issues.
- Implements a Compliance Risk Management program to identify vulnerable areas, developing and implementing corrective action plans.
- Ensures proper and timely reporting of violations to appropriate agencies and regulators (CBO/CMA/Police etc.).
- Monitor major regulatory inquiries. Coordinates with the HR/Training departments to develop an effective compliance training program to cover all Bank - employees, at least annually and when major initiatives are implemented.
- Provides feedback reports to regulatory authorities, as mandated by various regulations. Reviews and ensures integrity of all periodic financial reports and communications to regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance with prescribed rules and regulations.
Education qualifications Master's Degree
Professional qualifications Master's Degree and relevant professional qualifications
Experience A minimum of 10-15 years banking experience, at least 5 years should have been in Compliance and/or Audit
Skills - Preferably Understands Omani and international banking laws, CMA Regulations, corporate governance and AML
- Excellent understanding of risk management principles
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent presentational skills
