ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assess Business Concept Origination docs provided by COO team / Business Heads to ensure new activities / services carried out from Mumbai Centre are in compliance with the operational model agreed with on-shore Compliance/ Regulatory teams and Tax.
- New Business Strategies - Assess new service concepts / list of activities that could be done in Mumbai Centre , for respective on-shore locations.
- Disseminate any specific Regulatory / Policy changes that impacts the Mumbai Centre, as informed by Global Compliance/ Regulatory/ Infra teams.
- Introduction of Risk mitigation measures- e.g. Compliance Travel Undertaking for all on-shore travel, Operational WBTs / face to face trainings, KOPs Regulatory matrix doc etc.
- Represent and influence various risk management committees like the Infrastructure risk review Committee, Incident Management Group, Control Group, etc.
- Liaise with Regional Compliance Control room with regards to reconciliation of delinquencies and accuracy of records and wall crossings
- Advice on appropriate Chinese wall arrangements, in coordination with on-shore Compliance, in terms of the physical and electronic barriers – i.e. lay-outs, seating arrangement, use of privacy screens, access controls, conflict clearance and wall crossings
- Engage with Business Heads to assess pipeline business plans and advice on feasibility from Compliance / Regulatory perspective
- Reinforce compliance with Bank Group policies and local legislation;
- Advisory on outside Business activities / Directorships/ Guest lecturers etc.
- Develop effective partnership with local Heads of Business, global stake holders and Compliance Management;
- Liaison and maintenance of relations with regulators, local authorities and internal/external auditors;
- Facilitate transition of work into or out of Mumbai Centre by ensuring all Compliance requirements are fully met.
- Conduct periodic reviews of operations to provide confidence to management about level of compliance
- Conduct training and develop training content to foster a culture of compliance
- Reminders of Mandatory Compliance Policies and Procedures
- Provide advisory to operations in collaboration with on shore compliance
- Primary point of contact for on-shore Advisory, Regulatory Compliance and MSI with regards to services offered by Mumbai Centre for the on-shore location. Compliance contact for Regional Governance / Regulatory team with regards to services provided.
- Conduct monitoring, surveillance and investigations to ensure regulations and internal policies are complied with
- Email monitoring / Surveillance- Spot checks based on internal escalations from managers/ peers/ tip-off’s, Email retrieval requests,
- Reviews- Nature of role / information handled and segregation / seating arrangements, information control measures- USB enablement etc.
- Assess the operational framework, based on reviews / Business inputs, and recommend revision to the KOP / SLAs/ Secondments,(eg.. capturing the full list of services carried out for on-shore location into IRO database (AKA – VRM/ IGO)
- Maintain high level of collaboration with Legal, Data Protection, Corporate Security, Transition, Business Engineering and other support functions
- Carry-out theme based reviews in case of in depth scrutiny of service carried out, based on inputs from Business / initiated from Compliance side.
- Monitor resolution of Compliance breaches or issues raised through Employee Hotline
- Ad hoc theme based training (GMC operational model, WSP, Code of conduct etc.)
