Head of Communications and Government Affairs Client : Global Fortune 500 FMCG MNC Report To (Direct): Managing Director Report To (Dotted): Director - Communications and Government Affairs (APAC) JOB SUMMARY Responsible for the company's reputation, implementing its Social Impact and Sustainability agenda, partnering with governmental and statutory bodies as required and ensuring high employee engagement through internal and executive communications. Candidate Qualification &amp; Experience - 12+ years of wide-ranging experience in Communications, Government Affairs and Sustainability - 5+ years partnering at an executive level with multiple stakeholders. - Team leadership encompassing internal, external and sustainability communications. - Tertiary qualified, preferably in one of the following disciplines: Communications, management, Politics or Business. - Experience leading a communications team in an FMCG environment. - Demonstrable communication skills - written, verbal and formal presentations. - Proven ability to work set a strategic agenda, working through ambiguity to develop meaningful plans. - Sound strategic judgment - Familiarity with metrics-based communications planning, media strategy and stakeholder management. KEY RESPONSIBILITES: - Lead the development of strategies and programs for Communications and Government Affairs objectives, including reputation management, policy advocacy, environmental sustainability, and social impact. - Lead stakeholder engagement across government, NGOs, industry associations and regulatory agencies, to help shape the external business environment for our business. - Identify, secure and manage key external partners, e.g. agencies, to support and help deliver projects. - Manage and mitigate risk from issues and crises. - Partner with the APAC HQ Comms to align functional priorities and contribute to regional communications and government affairs agenda. - Participate as a member of the India Leadership team and the APAC Communications Leadership team - Set and manage the project, functional and departmental budgets within agreed parameters. - Review budgets in-line with company budget &amp; business review cycles.
