Head Commercials (Procurement & Contracts) Brief Description of the Role: The incumbent in this role will be responsible for the overall contracting and procurement strategy of the company as well as leading the contracting and procurement in all respects across all the projects in the company. Job Profile: Contracting & Procurement Strategy: - Develop and deploy an effective contracting and procurement strategy in line with the overall organization strategy. Over all responsible for structuring, implementing and controlling the contract and procurement management process. - Drive the implementation of SOPs for all activities of the contracts and procurement team including defining TAT's for all the activities to ensure consistency & standardization of contract, developing vendor databanks, pre-qualification of vendors and other related activities. - Coordinate with the other departments like operations, legal, finance etc for effective contract and purchase structuring from a legal and tax perspective. Manage purchase : Monitor deployment of procurement strategy leveraging on economies of scale and cost saving realizations wherever appropriate. Control and manage a robust RFI and RFP process for strategic sourcing needs. Lead and participate in high value and complex transactions overseeing the negotiations, governance mechanism and vendor performance. Negotiations: Ensure Proper Techno Commercial discussion and preparation of comparatives. Involving in Techno-commercial Negotiation and recommendation of contractors and suppliers. Monitor adherence to the Project budget and investigate any discrepancies. Forward Planning and Forecasting: Lead the process for forward planning and forecasting ensuring timely delivery. Coordinate with projects, regions and the land acquisition teams etc. to estimate with accuracy a forecast for material requirements. Monitor the plan to control the supply chain and take corrective measures if required. Ensure strategic, accurate and cost-effective procurement of materials across supply chains. Quality and Internal Control/Checks: Review work and material quality periodically and give feedback to the vendors in case of issues. Establish and maintain a system of checks and controls to ensure that contract and purchasing decisions are taken and transactions are carried out with integrity in line with company guidelines, policies and procedures. Realise and deliver cost savings, together with a range of additional benefits including improved vendor/supplier performance, improved quality of service and total cost of performance along with the risk mitigation plans. Develop and Manage Team: Provide leadership & motivation to the team through timely goal setting, capabilities development, performance feedback and career planning. Help recruit and retain competent and a high performing team delivering on the functional goals and targets of the department. Deliver a succession plan at each level within the department. Skills & Attributes: Work experience in materials management, procurement, contracting and resource planning. Experience in leading the contracting and procurement function of a well-established real estate development company or any other allied industries like construction, heavy engineering or power plants. - A strong leader, able to inspire and motivate a team, - Excellent communication, presentational and interpersonal skills - Self-motivated and proactive, enjoy working under pressure - Attention to detail and ability to spot cost efficiencies with third party suppliers - Ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders in the organization. - Knowledge of basic financial management, forecasting and budgeting. - Excellent verbal & written communication skills. - Excellent negotiation skills. - Manage relationships and ability to work with partners and vendors building effective relationships and long term commitment from the supplier community. - Qualified in allied disciplines like engineering or materials management
