Head - Commercial - Leading Speciality Chemical Manufacturer (Chennai)


The incumbent to should have experience in Handling Global customers specifically in the Agro / Pharma/ Fine Chemical sector with at least 15 years of total experience and should have been in a leadership role for at least 3 years. He should have a good knowledge on the market landscape.

The Key responsibilities include:

1. Global Customer / Key Account Management - includes visiting key customers, handling customer communication, monitoring and resolution of customer complaints

2. Procurement of Key raw materials - Should have knowledge on producers, traders and on the key drivers of RM prices that would enable him to negotiate better

3. To lookout for new business opportunities in custom manufacturing.

4. Scan the market place on a consistent basis both to learn the market's recent trends and implement them internally and also for opportunities for new products / customers

5. Provide input for development of long term strategies. Work on specific targets to meet the strategic objective of the business.

Competencies and Skills:

1. Negotiation Skills and good commercial acumen - Possess knowledge on the underlying cost components of RM and negotiate price of RM. Also understand the cost components that go into product pricing and maximise selling price

2. Customer service skills - In constant touch with Current and prospective customers and provide inputs on expectations to management.

3. Attention to details and able to good analytical skills

4. Chemistry and Engineering knowledge

5. Ability to work under pressure

6. Work prioritisation and high degree of result orientation
