Position Summary :

- Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the PDH shall assume a strategic role in the overall management of the charity and be a key member of the senior management team.


- S/he shall support and complement the CEO in meaningfully advancing the mission of the organization, with emphasis on building institutional credibility, strengthening program delivery, and supporting fundraising efforts, when necessary.

Key Areas of Responsibility :

- Identify key activities and priorities in line with the action plan and the organization's mission and values, including organization restructuring exercises and scaling-up of programs to achieve the objectives set out

- Design, implement, and communicate a strategy for operational management and program development, to meet agreed organizational performance plans within budgets and timelines

- Establish and maintain appropriate systems for monitoring and measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development

- Report on operational issues, opportunities, development plans, achievements, challenges, and budgets

- Implement and lead a continuous quality improvement process throughout program areas, focusing on systems and process improvement based on analysis of data generated from all departments

- Lead a high-performing field team by providing support from the head office and by further developing, implementing, and streamlining operational policies consistent with their feedback

- Set and manage performance targets of program teams, ensuring staffing levels are met and professional management standards are adhered to while maintaining a working knowledge of the organization's policies and regulations

- Provide regular and ongoing opportunities for all staff to give feedback on program operations and manage employee communication.

- Manage the program and operational aspects of the annual budget in conjunction with the Head of Finance

- Ensure that all costs are tracked regularly and under control, as per budget.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities :

- Minimum 15-20 years of relevant experience with progressive leadership exposure

- Candidates with experience in the not-for-profit sector shall be preferred

- Prior experience in the corporate sector, in a role that required significant coordination and result orientation, shall be an advantage.

Skills and Competencies :

- Demonstrated skills in leading diverse work teams and implementing organization-wide operational and managerial processes across broad geography

- Broad knowledge and experience in policy development and implementation, project management, organization development, and people management in a large-scale organization

- Outstanding interpersonal skills, including above-average oral and written communication skills


- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with the Board of Directors

- Ongoing affiliations with leaders in successful companies and organizations that practice effective operations management

- Familiarity with change management


- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and lead teams across a broad array of disciplines and diverse geographies
