Head/Chief Information Officer - IT Infra (15-22 yrs)

Role and Responsibilities :

An excellent CIO must have a solid IT background and consistently keep up-to-date with advancements of the field. Apart from their education and experience, they must have every quality of a leader and a strong strategic and business acumen.

Responsibilities :

- Set objectives and strategies for the IT department.

- Select and implement suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits.

- Design and customize technological systems and platforms to monitor productivity in the organization and to provide monthly profitability and reports.

- Plan the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to IT professionals and other staff within the organization.

- Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers

- Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks, computer systems, Firewall, Security appliances etc.) in the organization to ensure optimal performance and timely compliance manage licensing of all software assets of the company.

- Direct and organize IT-related projects.

- Monitor changes or advancements in technology to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage.

- Analyze the costs, value and risks of information technology to advice management and suggest actions.

Qualifications and Education Requirements :

- BE/ME in computer science, engineering or relevant field

Preferred Skills :

- Proven experience as CIO or similar managerial role in SAP environment in an manufacturing organization.

- Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure

- Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation

- Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations

- Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities

- A strong strategic and business mindset

- Excellent organizational and leadership skills

- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities

Key Result Area:

- Strategy - To create and maintain Information Technology & Management strategy in line with stakeholder needs and in keeping up with current best practice in the field of IT.

- Governance - To ensure Information technology and management are in-line with agreed strategy and policy. To ensure that policy and strategy is in compliance with government legislation.

- Development - To manage the further development and implementation of current projects such as the Online Record Book, Online Learning Hub, and other projects.


Specifically to manage:


- The development plans for ongoing integration, upkeep and improvement of IT systems;

- The commissioning of appropriate and cost effective procurement of hardware and software tools and contractual arrangements;

- LAN & WAN connectivity at all locations.

- The migration of core technologies and tools to the 'cloud';

- To protect system from Ransom ware and virus attach by implementing necessary tools.

- The management of project and system dependencies at planning, implementation and support stages;

- To create disaster recovery site.

- The sign off of all project management milestones for IT projects.

- Implementation - To manage the day to day operations of IT systems, ensuring that planning, end-user impact, change management, training, quality management are properly addressed and monitored to ensure that deadlines, budgets and service levels are met and results delivered.

- Supply management - To manage the relationships with (and between) external agencies and suppliers, ensuring contracts and service levels are negotiated in line with strategic aims and financial constraints and ongoing service is in-line with agreed contracts.

- Budget - To manage the annual Information Management budget and any associated funds. Specifically to be responsible for the review, audit and prioritization of all information management tools, including (in partnership with CFO) the replacement cycle of information technology hardware.

- Service - To organize and implement servicing and support of all IT systems to agreed service level standards. In particular:

- To ensure training is provided on any new information management tools that may be introduced;

- To monitor take up and use by staff and stakeholders;

- To provide remedial support where necessary;

- Staff - To line manage and develop the Information Management team, working with them to plan and priorities their workloads, set objectives, conduct appraisals and supported to continually improve their performance and results.

- Statutory Licensing: To keep company compliance in all respect by proper licensing of all software tools.

- Research- To develop and implement plans.

- Business continuity - To develop and maintain the Major Incident & Business Continuity plan for IT and to implement measures designed to safeguard the Information Technology and Management needs of the Foundation in the event of major incidents or disasters.

- To undertake any other activity required of the post holder by the ED.

Key Success Parameter:

- Upcoming of all information technology assets.

- Information management projects are delivered on time and meet their objectives

- Efficiency savings: better use of data leading to more informed decision-making, less paper, reduced duplication of information and process including MIS reports.

- Compliance with Government standards.

- Protection from Ransom ware & Virus attacks.

- Improved staff skills and competencies

- Better knowledge of our stakeholders resulting in improved service and user satisfaction

- Delivery of operational plans to time and within budget, supported by appropriate IT systems
