Head - Business Process - Consumer Banking (15-25 yrs)
- Conceptualize and design business processes for the Consumer Banking Business to standardize operations and service activities.
- Implement the defined processes and ensure that systems are in place to measure implementation.
- Interact with a highly skilled and talented teams, be a hands-on participant, help build incubations and proofs of concept (POC- s) where necessary.
- Champion business process innovation across service delivery segments.
- Responsible for key components of solution approaches on commissioned engagements. Able to influence LOB organizations by cross-pollinating best practices.
- Program manage the business process automation projects and create business process documents for all Branch Banking Business. Champion the implementation of the defined processes across the organisation.
Key Role Characteristics
- This level of assignment demands significant management and/or Retail Banking
- Business Process expertise at a project, product and systems level as well understanding of the Retail Banking domain with in-depth knowledge of the Banking products, laws and the processes.
- Assignments require a broad knowledge of the overall scope of client business activities, understanding of business needs and systems.
- The assignee may be a source of expertise in Liability and Branch Banking areas of the business.
- Working at this level the individual has significant influence on the Business and Operations process environment of the business area.
- To achieve task assignments at this work level, individuals require extensive management skills to facilitate the appropriate use of project resources.
- Assignments require innovative and strategic thinking to resolve problems (often across product/business area/company boundaries) effectively at all phases of the system /process development life cycle.
- Assignments may require the initiation and management of complex negotiations with a wide range of people including peers, clients and suppliers, and other IT units to obtain commitment to a project, the proposed design and construct process or achieve sign-off for a project /goal.
- Responsibility also lies in managing relationships with all parties associated with the project including the project team/client relationship.
- Presentation skills are required to communicate to clients/senior management the benefits of proposed solutions to business needs.
Typical duties :
- Directly interact with Liability Business team to distil business requirements and choose the appropriate process / solution approach.
- Influence the business on the direction of solutions and processes.
- Produces the Process maps / manuals for all business processes in Consumer Banking products and ensure that the business users implement the processes.
- Conduct periodic process audits to ensure compliance
- Champion process reviews and improvements by implementing process improvement techniques and quality practices
- Resolves problems (often across product area/company boundaries) and operates effectively at all levels of the problem resolution process
- Initiates and controls complex negotiations with a wide range of project related parties, including peers, clients, vendors and senior management
- Liaises with IT/Ops / Business areas external to the project to achieve objectives
- Contributes to the overall planning process for Consumer Banking (Retail Branch Banking) LOB
Job Skills :
Minimum Requirements for entry to this work level:
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification or equivalent professional qualifications (MBA / CA)
- Significant knowledge/experience (15+) years industry experience in business
- Domain leadership, professional services or consulting; relevant working experience and expertise in varied banking functions and specifically in Consumer banking operations and pertinent process development / process implementation
- Branch Banking experience (7-9 years)
- Significant management and/or information technology expertise at a project, product and systems level
- Broad understanding of overall scope of client business activities in Retail Banking
- Excellent skills in staff motivation/coaching, facilitation of groups and solving management/people problems
- Ability to communicate technical matters at both a technical and management level.
