Head - Business Development (Specialty Chemicals & Intermediates)
Qualification and experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. MBA qualification is mandatory.
Experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in business development, sales, or marketing, preferably in the specialty chemicals or intermediates industry.
Job Profile:
- The company is a leading chemical manufacturing company based in India, specializing in the production of specialty chemicals and intermediates. We are currently seeking a seasoned and mature professional in their mid-40s to join our team as the Head of Business Development.
- As the Head of Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of our specialty chemicals and intermediates business. Your primary responsibilities will be focused on both the technical and commercial aspects of the role, requiring a strong background in chemistry or chemical engineering as well as an MBA qualification or equivalent.
Generic Key Responsibilities (Indicative only):
- Business Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve the company's growth objectives, focusing on expanding our market presence and identifying new business opportunities.
- Market Research: Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential customers, emerging trends, and market dynamics. Utilize this information to capitalize on new business opportunities and stay ahead of competitors.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and aligning our products and services to meet their requirements. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing technical and commercial insights.
- New Business Acquisition: Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, collaborations, and acquisitions. Lead negotiations and finalize agreements to ensure successful deal closures.
- Team Leadership: To begin with this is an individual contributor role which can be further expanded.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including R&D, production, marketing, and regulatory affairs, to ensure seamless execution of business development initiatives and successful product commercialization.
