Your duties will include: - To contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of a business strategy that maximizes the retail net profit by driving sales and controlling costs at the national level. - To build motivated and high performing teams through effective leadership and line management to retail staff. - Develop the business model: Go deep, understand where opportunities are and create a viable business model to service the opportunities. - Execution of the distribution strategy which includes four key sales and distribution channels - Fashion, Consumer Electronics and Mass. - Work with the CEO to influence the creation and communication of company strategy, business priorities and targets and ensures there are systems in place to enable to monitor and increase the sell out from stores. - Oversee and lead actions to optimize all channels to drive acquisition, negotiate better terms of trade and achieve targets. - Responsibility for the overall retail distribution P&amp;L business to ensure delivery of acquisition targets and growth. Manage all key business drivers such as Expenses, Revenues, Headcount and Customer Service NPS. - Set the strategic direction for the business in terms of channel optimization and other business development actions. This will involve a close partnership with key accounts in each channel. - Build a high-performing team by leading and coaching direct reports to be able to achieve the business objectives. - Takes decisions on matters relating to the day to day retail operation within their defined work area including the strategic planning of resources - Translates the strategic goals into retail operational plans to achieve the required targeted growth in sales and profit; identifies and optimizes promotional opportunities ensuring these are co -ordinated with wider promotions and campaigns. - Ensures all new store proposals meet the required return on sales prior to submitting any recommendations to the CEO; all new shop locations must be visited to ensure they will trade effectively and meet the proposed targets - Spends time in shops with retail shop teams and customers to understand and identify business critical issues in order to ensure the alignment of tactics and strategies; maintains the corporate identity of the brand in all shops and related initiatives - Takes a lead role in building a strong sales management culture with the operations team; spends time coaching merchandisers, identifying skills and opportunities for development; provides advice and guidance on shop manager issues when needed. - Proactively manages and reviews the performance and progress of regional merchandisers and managers, sets objectives and targets; works towards developing individual training plans for the team - Maintains and constantly develops innovative and cost-effective stock generation; monitors stock weekly to achieve bottom line sales budget against monthly targets - Own pricing strategy based on market potential, consumer insights, margins, competitive signals, etc. Drive necessary promotions - Identify the growth areas and new business scope within the existing category - Work with Supply Chain teams to ensure product availability - Work closely with operations to distribute products in the most efficient way through the best channels and ensure distribution channels are optimized (including measuring returns and profitability of all channels) Desired Competencies : - Significant experience in sales and distribution within the consumer product industry with demonstrated success driving sales acquisition via a diverse network of branches and other channels. - Track record in delivering results - recognized for strong execution skills. - Strong and demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work with and influence a diverse and senior team of business leaders. - Excellent client skills and strong stakeholder management. - Results driven with a strong drive and finely tuned business judgment. - Desire and ability to think like the customer. - Ability to translate strategies into execution plans and take them to completion. - Highly analytical. - Willing to take calculated risks to grow the category. - Excellent verbal and written communication with interpersonal skills. - Know the market: Stay on top of trends in an ever-changing landscape, find opportunities and prioritize based on size, internal capabilities, etc. - Know the customer: Understand connected customer behavior, develop new customer insights. - Know the competition: Understand online and offline players. React as and when necessary in an appropriate manner. - Must possess a track record of increasing and sustaining sales growth and profitability even in challenging market conditions such as the current economic climate.
