Job Title: Head of Business Development

Location: Jaipur, India

Department: Sales & Strategy

Reports to: CEO

Experience: In BESS, energy, cleantech, or industrial B2B sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role

Job Summary:

We are seeking an entrepreneurial and results-driven Head of Business Development to lead the market expansion of our BESS solutions across India and select international regions. This role involves driving sales of containerized battery storage systems and integrated energy solutions to utilities, IPPs, EPCs, and C&I customers. The ideal candidate will combine a strong understanding of BESS, energy transition markets with strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Go-to-Market Strategy

- Develop and execute a robust go-to-market plan for containerized BESS solutions and battery packs

- Identify priority customer segments (utilities, renewable developers, microgrids, C&I) and establish entry strategies

Sales Leadership

- Lead the B2B sales lifecycle from lead generation to closing multi-million-dollar energy storage deals

- Build and manage a high-performing business development team

Partnerships & Alliances

- Develop strategic partnerships with EPCs, renewable energy developers, system integrators, and government bodies

- Engage in joint ventures, reseller agreements, and channel partnerships to drive growth

Customer Engagement & Account Management

- Build strong relationships with large enterprise customers, DISCOMs, and government agencies

- Serve as the commercial face of the company for tenders, RFQs, and key account negotiations

Market Intelligence & Positioning

- Track policy developments, energy storage mandates, and competitive activity in India and abroad

- Recommend product adaptations and pricing strategies based on market feedback

Revenue & Target Ownership

- Drive top-line revenue growth and meet quarterly and annual sales targets

- Report business performance to leadership and investors with actionable insights

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Energy Systems; MBA preferred

- Experience in B2B sales or business development in energy storage, renewables, power infrastructure, or industrial products

- Demonstrated success in closing large-scale sales or partnerships (ideally - 50 Cr+ projects)

- Strong understanding of the Indian energy landscape, tenders (SECI, NTPC, state DISCOMs), and grid storage opportunities

Preferred Skills:

- Knowledge of battery energy storage technologies, EPC processes, and power project finance

- Existing network within the renewable energy, utility, or industrial ecosystem

- Strong communication, negotiation, and contract management skills

- Willingness to travel extensively and engage at CXO and technical levels
