The Head of Business Development will be responsible for defining and executing the company's business development strategy.
- You will lead the business development team, manage key relationships, and identify new business opportunities to grow the company's footprint.
- This role requires a seasoned leader with an understanding of the agritech or technology sectors, capable of driving strategic growth initiatives.
- The Person will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities within the agri and food industry.
- The ideal candidate will have prior experience in business development and understanding of technology solutions, with a deep understanding of the unique needs of the food processing and agri industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers in Agri and food processing companies.
- Identify client needs and propose tailored technology solutions that enhance their operations.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- Identify and prioritize new market opportunities, strategic partnerships, and collaborations that align with the company's vision ideally focusing on food processing companies.
- Lead the business development team, providing mentorship, setting targets, and ensuring team members meet or exceed their goals.
- Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, partners, industry leaders, and governmental bodies.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of high-value business opportunities and track performance metrics.
- Collaborate closely with the sales, marketing, product, and technical teams to ensure alignment on market positioning and customer needs.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote the brand and develop business leads.
- Lead contract negotiations and work closely with legal and finance teams to finalize partnerships and business deals.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to ensure the company's offering remains competitive.
- Drive business development efforts in international markets as part of the company's expansion strategy.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent is preferred.
- Overall experience of 15 years with a minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or technology consulting, with a focus on the agri and food industry.
- Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth and closing high-value business deals.
- Strong network in the agriculture, food processing, or sustainability-focused industries preferred.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a history of mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
- Outstanding negotiation and communication skills, capable of influencing senior decision makers.
- Strong strategic thinker with the ability to align business development goals with the company's long-term objectives.
- Deep understanding of the agriculture value chain, sustainability trends, and the challenges faced by stakeholders in the agritech and food processing sectors.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working in collaboration with marketing, product, and technical teams.
