Head - Business/Data Analytics - Credit Risk Modeling/Scorecard - Financial Services/BFSI (7-15 yrs)

The Head of Business/Data Analytics is a critical leadership position responsible for delivering analytical support to various business functions in alignment with the business's overall vision.

The incumbent is responsible for the creation of new data sciences capabilities for the business by envisioning and executing strategies that will influence the improvement of the business's performance by enabling informed decision making. The incumbent will proactively work with business executives and various departmental heads across the business/geographies to provide advanced analytic data modeling systems.

The incumbent shall design and launch innovative and complex analytic models, utilizing a blend of contemporary and traditional data mining techniques, which he applies to both structured and unstructured data sets. The incumbent will lead the development of big data capabilities and utilization as well as the coordination of cross-functional analytic initiatives.

Leadership/Supervisory Role:

- Responsible for playing the role of leading innovation within the business and, as such, he defines how the business creates additional value through the utilization of its data assets and analytics.

- Responsible to lead the development and design of the departmental vision, capabilities, infrastructure, and quarterly/annual roadmap of data sciences capabilities

- Consistently identifying and monitor key business risks and realizing the data needs of the business

- The incumbent needs to manage the junior data science teams and oversee all the activities ensuring alignment with departmental and business-wide vision and strategies.

- To build the business's data science talent needs through role definition, recruitment, and development of a team of data scientists that will jointly move the business's agenda forward.

Strategy:

- Responsible to develop scopes, designs, and implements machine-learning models to support the business's numerous initiatives and programs with a view of achieving overall objectives and targets.

- Responsible to play strategic role for the continuous improvement in data analysis model, creating industry-leading performance through the leveraging of new and creative datasources, and employing the latest in machine learning in the department

- Matching and optimization of algorithms that are fundamental to the business's products/services identifying better matches that will ultimately improve the consumer experiences.

Customer Experience:

- Discover areas of the customer experience that can be automated through machine learning

- Be a thought leader on data systems, data mining and analysis to scale our capabilities, uncover trends and develop insights.

- Experience with customer segmentation and customer behavior analysis

Cross-functional Collaboration:

- The incumbent should be highly collaborative one and, in this position, he/she works closely with other cross-functional teams, in creating big data applications through the utilization of structured and unstructured data, designing optimal data architecture, and experimenting on new machine learning techniques.

- Partner with Product Management teams to drive requirements for new products and integrate data during product development

Analytics:

- The incumbent will also play an analytical role where he will drive experimental data modeling designs within the business

- Responsible to track the business's performance against data analysis model and monitor trends in key business KPIs, providing valuable insights to relevant departments for overall business performance improvement.

- Be the voice of analytics, support in-depth business reviews, and present to senior management

Knowledge:

- Accountability for maintaining a deep understanding related to the business's marketplace dynamics. - Experience in Risk Assessment, online advertising, loyalty programs or financial services (payments products, or BFSI industry would be ideal).

- Other Duties / Projects - Incumbent will be responsible to handle other duties/project (as assigned time to time basis) as per business needs.

People Management

- Experience managing teams.

Desired Candidate

- 7+ Years of progressive working experience with exposure in Credit Risk Modeling/Scorecard is a must.

- Engineering / Masters in Statistics, Machine learning, mathematic, computer science, economics, or any other related quantitative field. A working experience of the same will also be acceptable.

- The candidate for this position will have to be highly proficient and experienced in scripting languages and have rapid prototyping skills, that is, fluency in SQL, Python, R etc. among others.

- The candidate must also have a proven and successful experience track record of leading high-performing data analyst teams leading through the successful performance of advanced quantitative analyses and statistical modeling that positively impact business performance.

- Strong understanding of modeling, PD, LGD, Scorecard driven decisioning etc

- Experience in Financial Services/ BFSI Industry will be preferred.

- Problem-solving and analytical skills.

- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
