Head of Branding and Marketing

About the Company:


Role Overview:

We are looking for a Head of Branding & Marketing to define and lead our marketing strategy and brand identity from the ground up. This role requires a mix of strategic thinking and hands-on execution to build a brand that resonates with farmers, traders, and B2B customers across India.


The ideal candidate has deep exposure to rural markets and Tier 2 cities, with experience in crafting brands in fragmented or early-stage sectors. A passion for storytelling, customer understanding, and rural outreach is critical for this role.


Key Responsibilities:


Brand Strategy & Positioning:

- Build a unique and scalable brand identity tailored for rural and semi-urban India.

- Create and champion a compelling brand story aligned with the mission and values.

- Define brand guidelines and ensure consistent application across all touchpoints.

- Establish the company as a trusted partner among farmers, traders, and wholesale buyers.


Marketing Strategy & Execution:

- Lead and implement integrated marketing campaigns (digital, offline, community-driven) with a strong rural focus.

- Drive go-to-market (GTM) strategies for expansion into new regions and categories.

- Segment customer audiences based on data insights and build targeted communication strategies.

- Identify and scale cost-effective marketing channels suited for rural India.


Content, Communication & Thought Leadership:

- Design content strategies focused on farmer success stories, market education, and platform impact.

- Manage public relations, media outreach, and regional influencer partnerships.

- Produce B2B marketing materials such as case studies, brochures, and educational content.

- Represent the brand at agritech conferences, regional expos, and industry forums.


Farmer & Trader Engagement:

- Create and execute grassroots campaigns to drive adoption and awareness in rural communities.

- Collaborate with product and sales teams to improve user experience through marketing interventions.

- Launch community-based initiatives that build trust, loyalty, and engagement among farmers and traders.


Performance Measurement & ROI:

- Define KPIs and success metrics to track branding and marketing effectiveness.

- Monitor marketing spends and optimize for return on investment.

- Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis to refine positioning and messaging.


Ideal Candidate Profile:


Must-Have Qualifications:

- 8 to 12 years of experience in brand and marketing leadership roles, with hands-on experience in Tier 2 cities and rural markets.

- Proven success in building and scaling brands in early-stage or traditional sectors such as agritech, FMCG, or B2B services.

- Strong understanding of rural customer behavior and grassroots marketing approaches.

- Demonstrated ability to execute impactful campaigns with lean budgets.

- Excellent storytelling, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in rural marketing, agribusiness, or agri-input sectors.

- Background in growth marketing, demand generation, or partner/channel marketing.

- Familiarity with regional languages and local cultural nuances.

- Prior experience in high-growth startup environments.
