Head/AVP - Category Manager - Chemicals/Fertilizers (18-25 yrs)
- Own and manage the category of procurement for all Raw Materials and plant consumables including strategic sourcing and vendor development for units
- Leverage data and insights to work on improvement in category spends and decision-making
- Work closely with key user departments in developing sourcing strategies and implementation
1) Develop and manage the category strategy
- Develop the DFPCL procurement strategy to attain key metrics around cost, quality, and standards of procurement
- Develop procurement plan for the category to determine relationship management and negotiation strategies with top vendors
- Identify national and global vendors that can develop effective and efficient category management for DFPCL
- Conduct analysis of past and future spending, existing relationships, and external trends
- Develop and manage multi-year category roadmaps and pipelines of sourcing initiative projects
2) Drive innovation in supply chain organization
- Unlock key areas of innovation for DFPCL through effective systems and interventions
- Develop strategic sourcing capabilities in organization through effective vendor development and partnerships
- Augment the category through appropriate process improvements and modifications
- Work on procurement analytics tools to manage data driven decision making for DFPCL
3) Drive effective functioning of the category in DFPCL
- Drive seamless and smooth functioning of the category team through effective monitoring and review of the following work areas:
- Budget creation, validation and monitoring
- Contract validation and contract management including license and other long-term service agreements
- Prepare and implement advanced negotiation strategies
- Evaluating and monitoring the risk profile of the supply base, identify mitigation targets, and implement risk improvement initiatives
- Work with Manufacturing Head and Unit Heads by looking at the periodic management report and resolve the issues concerning procurement
4) Manage relationships with the relevant stakeholders on a continuous basis
- Drive customer centricity in interactions and servicing with user departments like manufacturing, projects, etc .
- Manage and drive relationships with relevant stakeholders on a continuous basis like:
- Senior members of top vendors / contractors
- Prospective and existing strategic alliance partners
- Other specialized consultants
- Participate in all important manufacturing/ operations related meetings and note important areas for action
- Leverage governance framework to identify and classify risks in vendor risk and evaluation
5) Delivery and Service Management
- Work with the buyer and user department to monitor the delivery of materials and services as per the contracted process
- Coordinate with the senior vendor relationships to ensure that delivery is as per timeline and quality
- Make changes to the vendor performance framework to ensure improvement of services and products delivered
6) Lead a capable and motivated team of supply chain professionals
- Drive a sense of one team and contribute to overall organization success through collaborative means
- Drive performance of the team based on the KRAs required of the teams
- Ensure that relevant team development initiatives and trainings are identified and implemented
