Head - Analytics - Research Firm (12-20 yrs)

The Organization is a global analytics and research firm that delivers analytics and research services to large corporations in key sectors including CPG, financial services, retail, life sciences and industrials.

They work with a third of companies in the Fortune 100 list, helping them deliver value and drive efficiencies across their organizations. We operate as an extension of our clients- in-house teams, providing insights that enable better decision-making, through a global team of more than 600 analysts.

They are headquartered in the UK with additional offices in the USA, Romania, and India.

Role and responsibilities

Analytics is central to our strategy, and we are looking for a dynamic leader to head the analytics practice. This exciting role will play a crucial part in the success and growth of the company, by working with key clients, and other internal stakeholders. Specifically, the role entails the following broad responsibility areas:

Delivery Management

- End to end ownership of delivery of all analytics work, internal or external, across all geographies, with the end objective of adding value to clients

- Running a tight quality management process to ensure top notch quality of actual deliverables and client engagement

- Ensure all delivery processes are being run efficiently, and make changes as needed to manage a growing and global delivery team

- Ensure high client satisfaction / NPS across all engagements Operations Management

- Run the annual budgeting and planning process for the analytics team and own the overall

P&L

- Work with sales team to understand the work pipeline and plan capacity and hiring plans, accordingly

- Manage the overall staffing process and ensure high utilization, keeping in mind career aspirations of team members

- Periodically review efficiency and productivity at the team level, identify gaps and implement measures for continuous improvement. Identify, refine and build quantifiable business metrics at the team level

- Foresee infrastructure needs in line with work demand and changing nature of the industry, and drive the required changes pro-actively

Client Management & Business Development :

- Accountable for account development of existing clients with specific revenue growth targets, to be achieved by working with the client engagement managers reporting into Head of Analytics. The account development targets will be laid out for specific client accounts, and then rolled-up for all of the analytics - the role will require working with the engagement managers to help them upsell and cross-sell within their accounts to achieve these.

- Ability to independently represent TSC in client meetings/ conferences. Effectively understand the client requirements and position TSC capabilities accordingly

- Establish a strategic and trusted relationship with key clients across the globe by understanding their business environment, their needs and sharing ideas

- Identify potential business leads and cross-sell opportunities

- Ability to coach the team in farming existing client accounts

- Take overall accountability for all BD support on analytics opportunities. This includes responding to RFPs, designing solutions for proposals, getting new supporting collateral made, estimating effort, and structuring complex solutions

People Management

- Lead a globally dispersed team of 130+ people, including direct reporting of 6-7 senior team members

- Manage the entire talent evaluation and management process and ensure high employee satisfaction and low attrition

- Conduct interviews across levels and ensure effective succession planning by identifying and mentoring top talent to take up senior roles within the Firm

- Anticipate and resolve confrontations, disagreements, and complaints to create a win-win situation

- Establish and maintain formal and informal methods to track people's pulse through timely, structured and/or unstructured team meetings and One-on-ones

- Actively implement, and ensure team members understand and comply with, all corporate policies, procedures and guidelines Capability Development

- Be on top of the latest trends in the analytics industry and share the knowledge with team members and clients

- Identify new capabilities to be developed and drive their development and adoption, including working with sales and marketing on the GTM strategy

- Provide strategic direction to various sector strategies in terms of analytics usage and new opportunity areas

- Drive a culture of innovation within the analytics team by challenging the status quo and creating an atmosphere of controlled experimentation

- Evaluate, and drive opportunities for partnerships to foster the team's analytics capabilities

Organisational Development

- Own key strategic initiatives - end to end- - leverage organizational resources effectively to design and deliver optimum solutions within reasonable timelines

- Demonstrate an effective approach to continuous improvement of the processes which directly manage the delivery of services

- Provide meaningful business insights and incorporate facts, data, and trends into decision making at the team level

Requirements:

- 12+ years of analytics experience with at least 4 years managing large (100+ member) delivery teams

- Strong understanding of the entire analytics landscape and hands-on working experience of a variety of problems across non-BFSI industries such as (Retail, CPG, Life Sciences, etc.) and domains (marketing, CRM, supply chain, pricing, etc.)

- Proven knowledge and understanding of Statistical Modelling, Data Mining, Machine Learning, and unstructured data analysis (neural nets, deep learning), and their business applications

- Knowledge of Big Data Technologies - Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Sqoop, Flume, etc.

- Expertize in SAS, R, or Python

- Proven solution design capabilities for a one-off project or in an automated deployment environment (on-premise or Cloud) and/or as a product offering

- Good knowledge of various data visualization tools like Tableau, Qlikview, Power BI, D3 etc.

- Excellent communication and client engagement skills
