Investment Operations (Back office/Mid office)


Purpose of the Job:

- To manage the cash flows, fund accounting & accurate NAV calculations.

- To communicate valuations internally & externally.

- To manage the Investment Compliance, Investment Risk Management, internal MIS, Investment IRDA reporting and other regulatory reporting.

Key Performance Areas:

- Monitor everyday fund and record the inflow & outflow on a daily basis

- Update the front office on the investable fund to enable them to take decision for buying securities.

- Ensure no funds are lying idle & there is no overdraft in any bank competencies

- Responsible for Monitoring MF Investment.

- Authorize all inflows & outflows recorded in Mfund/Mpower for sale / purchase of securities & receipt of corporate actions

- Ensure corporate actions are recorded and authorized in Mfund

- Ensure at the day end all the records (transactions as well as maintenance) are authorized.

- Ensure the EOD is run in Mfund/Mpower at the end of the day.

- Ensure the valuation of equity shares, G-Sec, bonds, money market instruments, is done as per IRDA guidelines.

- Responsible for Liaison with banks, custodian, brokers, counter parties and regulatory authorities.

- Responsible for Monitoring of Reconciliation of Bank Accounts, Custody Accounts and Investment Accounts.

- Responsible for Monitoring Transfer Instructions to HDFC Bank.

- Responsible for Computation of Units to be created / destructed. NAV Calculations

- Checking NAV of Unit linked funds

- Ensure all income & expenses accrued for the day are accurate

- Ensure accurate load calculations are done for each fund for arriving at the unit prices

- Monitoring of various Investment limits prescribed by IRDAI.

- Monitor investment compliance to statutory norms; address auditor queries, improve effectiveness

- Present compliance reports in order to ensure adherence to compliance procedures & regulations.

- Responsible for Monitoring of various limits specified in Company Investments and Lending Policy.

- Responsible for accurate and Timely reporting of reports to IRDAI (IRDAI quarterly investment returns).

- Preparation of ULIP disclosure, TWRR, Mean Yield, Fund Performance, etc.

- Review the reports generated; Advise on necessary corrections/ amendments in order ensure compliance to processes and procedures Portfolio Risk Management

- Benchmarking with competition, indices and analyses of the same.

- Preparation of performance attribution reports using performance attribution system.

- Ensuring compliance to various investment policies like Stop Loss Policy, Voting Policy, Impairment Policy, etc.
