The Sr. Product Owner (Data Fabric) is accountable for designing and delivering the data fabric roadmap that will onboard multiple stakeholders initiatives supporting the strategic priorities of DP&S aligned to R&D goals. The Sr. Product Owner will work collaboratively with stakeholders (Product Directors, Product Owners and architects) to align on priorities and build plans to deliver against those priorities.

The Sr. Product Owner is recognized as the go to leader and trusted advisor for the R&D data fabric, working collaboratively and adaptively to constantly meet the needs of Data Platform customers and deliver value to GSK.

The Sr. Product Owner will provide leadership to link the business mission, strategy, and processes of GSK R&D research & clinical solutions to Data Platform and capabilities with roadmaps, plans, models and high level architectures / solutions that ensure the current and future needs of the R&D organization will be met in an efficient, secure, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner.

This role will provide you the opportunity to lead key activities to progress your career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

- Maintain current knowledge of Data Platform architecture components.

- Be an active participant in the Scrum of Scrums and key projects in solution groups.

- Ensure that architecture artefacts and decision-making reflect the GSK wide view and longer-term timeframe when appropriate.

- Align IT to the business to achieve strategies and objectives such as: improved data integration and data quality, simpler and standard architectures.

- Maximize reuse and contribute to the life cycle of existing standards and services

- Approve architecture and standard exceptions while ensuring each is justifiable.

- Educate key IT and business stakeholders on global and local architecture, the value proposition and alignment with business and IT goals and objectives

- Work with the engineers and product owners to ensure projects align with the strategic target architecture plans as well as help produce effectively designed solutions.

- Technology Strategy & Enablement: in the role of trusted advisor, strong domain knowledge including one or more of the following: business process, industry best practices, in market solutions.

- Demand management: Collaborate with business stakeholders to manage and prioritize the product backlog to produce the product set with the highest business value. Accountable for the product backlog and product cost forecast.

- Governance: Establish business value, manage delivery and service performance and manage business risk within the scope of their product. Responsible for representing the product in governance boards such as

Steering and Design Authority.

- Product/Project Delivery: Design and deliver the optimal set of products and services which meets the business strategy and requirements. Accountable for creation and execution of the product roadmap. May complete hands on configuration, providing detailed designs and wider impact assessments. The ability to think big picture and customer first is imperative.

- Quality, Risk & Compliance: Accountable for ensuring the product within the domain is compliant with internal security and risk management policies and practices, as well as external regulatory and statutory requirements e.g. GxP and that Tech continuity plans are in place for all critical products.

- Feature Definition: Proven ability to translate customer requests, competitive activities, and industry trends into value drivers of new technology solutions and product requirements that can be easily understood by product teams, developers and other key constituencies within the organization.

- Service Management: Responsible for ensuring any changes are delivered in accordance to the services levels that are in place, to ensure adherence to those SLAs, and directly managing any Level 3 support issues and escalations. Accountable for Lifecycle Management of the product.

- People Management: Will work in collaboration with the broader team to drive and deliver business value to tight timelines adhering to the release management calendar where applicable. Depending on team structure, the incumbent may matrix manage the team

- Adoption strategy & change management: in the role of change agent, support both the product teams and the business in agile approaches to solution development and adoption, building excitement, momentum, visible success stories and clear value-based versions of vision as roadmap plans come to life.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

- 9+ years of relevant IT industry experience

- Bachelors Degree in computer science, engineering, or similar discipline

- 5+ years relevant R&D experience and / or exposure to enterprise architecture in an IT organization

- Track record in delivering business impact through IT enabled solutions.

- Experience of Agile and DevOps

- Involved with Azure or GCP based technology solutions

- Strong influencing and communication skills.

- Familiarity with Rest API, .Net Core, Java

- Familiarity and use of various open source ecosystems including JavaScript, Bigdata, java, python etc.

- Good understanding of various software paradigms: domain-driven, data mesh, DataOps, procedural, data-driven, object-oriented, functional

- Demonstrable knowledge depth in more than one area of software engineering and technology.

- Knowledge of Industry related compliance requirements like GxP & GDPR Compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

- Technical Writing experience

- Demonstrated ability to influence leaders
