GSK - Global Medical Data Analyst (5-10 yrs)

- This is an ideal role for a candidate with previous experience in applied Healthcare data analysis and wishing to grow their career towards finding critical solutions for unmet patient needs. It is a brand new role supporting the newly formed GSK md2i (Medical Data 2 Insights) organization. Opportunity for personal growth will be in line with contribution to the value and success of the md2i organization.


This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:


- Develops and executes data governance processes maintaining well documented and up to date business rules


- Recommends opportunities for data process and data access improvements for analytics applications


- Develops and maintains appropriate processes and procedures that enable efficient data access and maximize data for best fit and purpose for analysis methods and advanced analytics application


- Develops ongoing data quality metrics to detect data issues early with data ingestion and curation for accuracy and analytics that can be trusted


- Determines effective processes for data quality controls to build confidence and trust with key users (i.e. data scientists) and stakeholders


- Ensures appropriate use of data and data quality with created reports or data from vendors/partners


- Ensures quality and timeliness of data provided to third parties, as appropriate, for vendor deliverables


- Analyze and assess data quality and usefulness for analytics purposes and determine appropriate data cleansing methods that are transparent and documented for understanding of the data with advanced analytics applications and outputs.


- Appropriately address data inconsistencies or challenges uncovered through data integration/synthesis and ensure effective communication with data scientists and other stakeholders for appropriate use and interpretation.


- Assess inconsistencies with updated data feeds over time to ensure appropriate trending conclusions based on true data findings vs. false findings due to messy, inaccurate data


- We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: machine learning, NLP, healthcare, python and/or R


- 5+ years preferred


- Up to 2 years of professional experience in database management, data reporting and analytics, data visualization for business consumption, data science, understanding of best practices with data structures for analytics and reporting, data manipulation, database and analytics skills to develop insightful measures for actions and decision making in a business setting


- 5+ years preferred experience with SQL, SAS programming or other programming/database manipulation methods and tools to collect, integrate, and manipulate data for analytics usage and reporting, Working with, integrating, and using healthcare data preferred.
