On the way, we were featured 200 times in global media for our disruptive business model, won innovation awards, were taught as a case study in seven B-Schools, were featured in the opening chapter of Prof. C.K. Prahlad's book, became India's largest employer of teachers, were named the coolest startup in India and had the largest trade sale exit for any VC funded firm.

But we didn- t get do it alone. The core team that made this happen consisted of the founders and a band of young MBAs, from top IIMs and XLRI, who handled key management roles from the very early stages. Who Are These Rockstars :

Rashmi Daga - IIMA alum, joined TutorVista from J&J. She handled operations, tutor management, sales and customer service over three years and went on to become the COO at Bluestone (one of the top online jewelry companies in India), head of B2B vertical at at Ola Cabs . Now has promoted with Growthstory.in, an exciting online food business ( freshmenu.com). As cofounder and CEO, is closing $ 5 MM venture funding for the startup.

Rahul Kedia - XLRI alum, joined TutorVista from GE Finance. He handled the entire online marketing team with spends over $1MM/month, now head's Flipkart's online marketing and manages millions of dollars of marketing budget.

Arun Kumar - XLRI alum, joined from IBM. He handled almost all key functions in TutorVista; from sales, strategy, marketing to product management. He also helped us c0-conceptualize the next venture of TutorVista founders - Portea Medical. Now, he handles key consumer marketing, technology and product management as part of the core management at Portea Medical. Handles complex functions across 12 cities with 1000 employees and large marketing budget.

Rama Harinath - IIM Bangalore/ IIT Madras alum, joined TutorVista from Dell/HP. He handled operations in TutorVista . Later headed the online business in Pearson as part of core management team . Now is co-founder and COO at Growthstory.in company - homelane.com . The company recently closed venture funding from top VC firm.

Prakash Rengarajan - IIMB alum, joined Tutorvista from Microsoft. At TutorVista, he handled product management, new service launches and the Pearson-TutorVista relationships that was instrumental in the landmark acquisition deal. Portea Medical - Founded in July 2013, it is already the largest home healthcare company in India, serving over 12 cities already. It has been named as one of the top four startups to watch out for in 2014 by Forbes Magazine. It has raised $ 9 MM in VC funding from Accel Partners, VentureEast and Qualcomm ventures. Portea has already scaled exponentially in India and will soon expand internationally. Over 1000 employees are currently doing over 25,000 home visits a month!
