About the role:

We are currently looking for a progressive Finance Manager to lead financial operations based in Delhi. Working alongside the Regional Director and the global Essence finance team you will play a key role in the global finance function, ensuring consistently accurate financial reporting and proper financial control over the Essence of India.

Some of the things we- d like you to do:

1. Implement and manage all elements of financial operations to support the running of our APAC business including AP, AR, cash/treasury management, payroll, coordinating month end procedures Budgeting, forecasting, monthly management reporting to Group Finance and local leadership

2. Work closely with Global Finance team and MD of APAC to aid business decisions, encourage growth, cost management, client profitability management, contract management

3. Coordinate with GroupM, Finance Plus and the Essence India finance manager to ensure accurate forecast costs are provided to the Global finance team.

4. Ownership of the actuals and knowledge of operating expenses being posted to India operations.

5. Presentation of monthly actuals to Global Finance during review meetings prior to production of month-end reporting.

6. Review journal postings and bank reconciliations completed by Finance Plus and GroupM India Team

7. Perform monthly review of individual Operating Companies- Income Statement and Balance Sheet, budget variance analysis, allocation reconciliations, and identification of unusual transactions, business changes, accounting changes and misstatement

- Review the inter-company billing for the Essence India to the Essence trading entities

8. Review of monthly payroll, supporting local HR teams with payroll taxes

- Support the Global Finance Manager with client income and cost analysis.

9. Responsibility for statutory reporting, including the preparation of annual statutory accounts, income tax and GST returns

10. Management of local tax incentives, grant initiatives where applicable

11. Liaison with external consultants, including auditors and tax consultants and bank

- Work with our Group Finance team to ensure group accounting policies and financial controls are adhered to.

A bit about yourself:

- We are looking for a candidate with great interpersonal skills, someone who can build and maintain strong professional relationships, both internally around the business and externally with business partners.

- You will need a solid understanding of the need for commercial control, business needs and the importance of driving revenue.

- Close to 4 to 8 years of industry experience working in core accounts and finance functions.

- A major in Finance or equivalent with 3 to 6 years of exposure in an end to end accounting.

- Knowledge of local statutory requirements including Company law, Financial Reporting Standards, IRAS requirements, as well as reporting under IFRS

- Experience in working in other APAC regions would be beneficial

- Experience of AP, AR and managing cash flow

- Responsible, diligent and attentive to detail; follow through on queries and issues

- A proven track record in leading people; including the ability to motivate, inspire and breed a desire for excellence, growth, and diligence

- Experience managing people; including day-to-day line management, longer-term coaching, and appraisal processes

- Advanced Excel skills and a working knowledge of SAP Business One or similar Accounting system
