Roles & Responsibilities:
Our client is a newly formed international specialty insurer and reinsurer with operations in London and Bermuda. Our client occupies a unique position in the insurance industry combining unrivalled experience, reputation and a legacy free balance sheet.
JOB DESCRIPTION
1) Manage all month-end activities as per the calendar and coordinate with respective onshore and offshore team members
2) Review of all reconciliations and journal postings for accurate and timely submission
3) Build robust controls mechanism and review process for all processes in offshore team
4) Deputizing for the External reporting lead to provide support and cover for any other reporting needs
5) Preparation of Management accounts, GAAP and Statutory reporting of Financial statements to meet external requirements
6) Maintain Finance Datamart and coordinate with Insurance and Re-insurance teams to receive accurate and timely data for reporting
7) Coordinate with Actuarial team and provide data for Reserve calculations and for Solvency reporting
8) Assist wider Finance department on strategic and tactical projects as required
9) Review, interact and train offshore resources in India and help to retain and build knowledge through documentation and knowledge sharing
10) Perform account reconciliations including Bank reconciliations, Balance Sheet reconciliations, Fixed Assets Reconciliations and Intercompany reconciliations.
11) Should be able to resolve the reconciling items in a timely manner.
12) Strong Basic Accounting and Domain knowledge for framing and posting journals
13) Perform month end activities and year end activities in accordance with Financial close schedules and the established guidelines.
14) Strong knowledge of General Accounting principles.
15) Knowing End to End RTR cycle and General Ledger process.
16) Ability to work under pressure.
17) Excellent time management skills and ability to perform under stringent timelines
18) To interact with client on daily basis and act and deliver within defined timelines
19) Logical and Smart thinking and execution
20) Good knowledge about Payroll Accounting
21) Knowledge about technical accounting for Insurance Industry is must
