The company uses its in-house technology platform to manage a network of over 5,000 partner stores that enable the company to run a fast and lean supply chain - from manufacturers straight to customers in 16 cities namely Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Gurgaon, Noida, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Rohtak, Bhiwadi & Meerut. Grofers utilizes its efficient supply chain to deliver over 25 million products to customers every month. A majority of these products belong to the company's 8 in house brands namely Grofers Happy Day, Grofers Happy Home, Grofers Mothers choice, Grofers Happy Baby, G Fresh, O- range and budget brands Savemore and Havemore.

Objective of the Role :

The Director- Operations Development's major role will be to provide design leadership and guidance for Grofers Fulfillment Centre Operations. The incumbent will be instrumental in bringing in industry best practices pertaining to automation, continuous improvement, lean and six-sigma at workplace, thereby boosting growth, standardisation, productivity and quality in the workflow

Key Roles and Responsibilities :

1. Design and Strategy :

a. Develop and deploy an operating model for Fulfillment Centres that builds a culture of operations excellence

b. Design end to end automation strategy for different stages of Fulfillment Centre operations

c. Drive a culture of lean six sigma to efficiently and productively drive scale

d. Provide thought leadership in conjunction with business leaders to develop a holistic road map aimed at bringing the culture of continuous improvement in the system

2. Stakeholder management : Work closely with different cross functional teams in the area of operations, technology, quality & training and automation to identify opportunities for creating efficient and cost-effective processes

3. Team Management :

a. Build and manage a team of specialised individuals with prior knowledge and understanding on lean operations

b. Coach, mentor and guide the team from time to time to develop functional expertise and future competitiveness through various six sigma and kaizen activities

c. Deliver high performance by building team's capabilities through relevant training programs

Desired Skills & Experience :

1. Advanced degree (MS/PhD/MBA) with relevant experience in process excellence, automation, lean and six-sigma

2. Minimum 8+ years of leadership experience in independently managing large distributed teams

3. Black Belt Certification in Six Sigma

4. Proven experience of leading and driving critical technological and process improvement initiatives through lean and six sigma methodologies

5. Excellent understanding and knowledge of industry best practices in operations development domain

6. Strong written and oral communication skills

7. Result oriented individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
