Position: Project Director

Status: Full time, 2-year contract (renewable).

Start Date: (November 2022)

Location: New Delhi/ Gurgaon, with Frequent travel (upto 50% time) to project sites and other locations

Grameen Foundation for Social Impact is looking for a seasoned financial sector leader with deep domain knowledge in the financial services sector. She/He will use comprehensive experience, skills, and knowledge to forge and manage multi-stakeholder partnerships, technology interventions and impact at scale in the Business Correspondent (BC) Industry. She/He will work with Grameen Foundation's global and country-level teams to design and roll out innovative initiatives to drive scale, build capacity of BC Agents, improve customer experience and viability of BC Agents and Network. S/He will have deep knowledge and understanding of the policy framework and technology solutions for the BC industry and managing partnerships and lead project teams. The role requires the person to engage closely with senior leadership in the financial sector, convene and lead meetings and workshops, prepare high quality reports and documentation. S/He will oversee multiple DFS projects and manage the project team.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Deep commitment to eradication of poverty and alignment with Grameen Foundation's mission.

- Outstanding project management skills with proven track record of achievement under challenging situations and multi-stakeholder arrangements.

- 12-15 years of relevant experience in banking industry particularly in Digital Financial Services and Business Correspondent sector.

- Ability to act as a representative of the project in public forums.

- Business strategy, financial analysis, excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.

- MBA from premier institutions, preferably with specialization in Finance/ Banking

Essential Job Functions

- Provide Leadership in Program design and implementation, team recruitment, develop and manage partnerships, research, and documentation of customer centric financial services design, managing day to day operations, and stakeholder engagements.

- Use strategic thinking to translate ideas and concepts from research and/or practice/policy into concrete actions and plans, and anticipate long term challenges and trends to develop appropriate strategies

- As a member of the Senior Leadership team of GF, contribute to strategy development, representing the organization at external fora and strengthen organizational reputation.

- Develop detailed project plans and adhere to the Project Management methodology and use the project planning tools for project implementation including but not limited to Risk Management, Partner Engagement, Vendors, Compliance & Legal Agreements, internal and external communications, Project Schedules, and M&E.

- Develop and manage budgets and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines. Manage internal budget review process, donor reporting.

- Provide subject matter expertise on industry and technology trends and opportunities to leverage DFS for the underserved communities specially women. Use data and consumer research to develop appropriate strategies.

- Primary contact for the industry partners like Banks, Regulatory Authorities, Financial Institutions, NGOs and FinTechs

- Establish a robust system of gathering data and MIS from partners, collation and reporting, Documentation, Reporting, lead stakeholder discussions, including but not limited to Monthly Updates and Quarterly Reports. Ensure FSP partner is involved throughout the process to create shared ownership of deliverables.

- Actively participate in internal Knowledge Exchange to share lessons learned and key findings with internal and external stakeholders, support other GF representatives in internal and external communication.

Reporting and relationships: The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
