ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

What are the main goals for this role?

- Custodian of the complete deal lifecycle from when a deal is closed to its conclusion. Typical deal lifecycle is commercial negotiations->contract-negotiations->payments/collections->deliveries. We execute more than 20 contracts in a month with companies from every habitable continent globally.

- Collaborate with internal teams ; Sales, Acquisition, Ops, Legal & Accounts - to achieve commercial goals and drive commercial process improvements.

- Be a commercial counsel to the sales & acquisition teams. Help them structure commercial terms. Ensure tax efficiency for both international and domestic contracts. For example, we use the word "withholding tax" more times in a day than tax authorities themselves.

- Asset utilization: We have a large inventory of copyright assets. Efficiently monetizing those assets and squeezing out the last bit from the inventory before the rights expire.

- Manage all the legal aspects during the contact lifecycle: Goquest's business (intellectual property) is a business of contracts. Therefore, the role will eat sleep breathe contracts. However, this is NOT a legal role. You will work closely with our internal and external legal counsels.

- Due to its highly contractual nature, Goquest's business involves occasional litigations (piracy, misuse of rights, non-payments, etc.). This role will work with all our legal resources and champion these litigations. However, preempting chances of litigations are more critical (using sound SOPs and due diligence). No one enjoys conflicts. It's a distraction.

- Be a Compliance Counsel and advice to set up robust company level and deal level systems and processes.

Who Should Apply?

- Worked at a CA firm and led multiple accounts servicing different entities

- Extremely detailed oriented. A most important quality for success in this role. You have to be a stickler for small things.

- Extreme deadline orientation. Speed of execution is everything. Ensuring things happen on time quite simply life the business.

- A Taskmaster

- Minimum ten years of experience.

- Strong experience in Finance & Accounting. However, this is not an accounts role.

- Experience working with contracts and closely interacting with the legal professional.

- Possible backgrounds but not necessary.

- Worked under a seasoned operator in a mid-level role and wants to use those skills in a leadership role

- Working in a mid-level commercial position in a large org but constrained by the speed of growth at their existing organization.

- Those who eat, sleep and breathe business, numbers, and law.
